I had great plans for Christmas this year. Celebrate my 60th. and the arrival of my first grandchild.
I rented cottage in rural Wales so my boys and their wives could all stay with me and I could be mother hen for a few days then have lovely rest and enjoy visits from old friends I have not seen in years.
Started well as it usually does. Then Snow.......lots............I get dose of flu............very ill have to spend time with nunber one son. Baby arrives after 4 days labour not well and has to remain in hospital..thankfully doing ok now.

Back in cottage but not in much of a mood to celebrate until baby is home. Party for Christmas lunch is down from 9 to 6. Ho Ho Ho. we will make most of it and celebrate later.

Merry Christmas all

4 days of labour, that’s rather too much. Why did they let the mother and the child to suffer for so long? Or, perhaps that’s already rhetorical – the end is good, everything is good. wine

The best is that the baby is getting well and I hope the mother is fine too and your flu seems to be under control,so celebrate Christmas any time, whenever. The time does not matter.

I have some friends who celebrate Christmas twice, one at their own home with their children (grown ups) and families and another with the family of her and they follow everything as usual. Every year they get 2 Christmas parties and one is in another day different of the 24th of December.

Have a great time.
Merry Christmss

Hi Mariola,
You have much to celebrate this Christmas, Be your best Mother hen ever and be blessed by being surrounded by your loved ones.
I am happy to have my lady and some new friends but I must admit that being away from either Honduras or the USA has made this my quietest Christmas in many years. I am grateful for my friends here in Cyprus, without them it would really be tough. cheers

Yes 4 days was a long time. I don't understand either why they let it go on so long. Fashions change even in medicine. One year it is all induce labour then it is let it take as long as it takes........... such if life.

Hi Lifeisadream

I will be having another " Christmas " back in Spain for The Three Kings on 6th January with all my friends there.

Baby is doing well and should be able to leave hospital in a few days. We can Celebrate the New Year with a few glasses of Champers and wet the babys head then.

Best Wishes,

I hope you do something special for your self, something delicious to eat and drink. Then come on Cs and chat with friends here. I am sure a lot will be popping in to say hello. I know I will.

smoky: Thank you everyone for contributing to this thread.

I wish you all a HAPPY CHRISTMAS ..... and a very peaceful and enjoyable time.

Looks like I will be in my warm and cosy bed...... I got an horendous dose of flu, with all the coughing, snorting, etc`s that come with walking around at midnite in minus 10 degrees! Dang!..I keep forgetting about how old I am and to stop doing stupid things!

So, my Christmas will be peaceful, I`m gong to be acting like a real old lady, and the family can just bring me some food and leave quietly.

I hope to be fully recoverd by New Year though ..... big plans for THAT weekend!

YOU ALL HAVE FUN AND ENJOY WHAT YOU ARE DOING...

Get well soon Smoky and mariola!hug
