What happened to living your dream

It seems like in the modern world we as people have forgotten what it means to live ones dream. everyone knows, that first initial dream in which they have when they’re a child. becoming a veterinarian, doctor, or even an Astronaut. Truth be told, it got buried under peer pressure and the false belief from someone close to them rather than their own doings. They believed while others doubted and sadly their dream were altered to fit in with that of that persons standards. So it may seem to be swept under the rug but it’s never forgotten. When a person alters or changes their dream due to influences it becomes not that of their own dream but that of someone else's. Influences can be strong but happiness should be stronger; although, a dream may be useless in one person’s view point, it could be gold for another.

If living a dream makes a person the happiest being alive, why would they consider living a second rate life to that of what they would have loved and been happy with. These are questions in which most of society can’t answer for they’ve done it or had it done to them. So many times have I heard “Go to school for this!”, “Get the best career, that one you’re interested in isn’t good enough for the bills.” When will this end, when will we be able to pick and choose our own jobs. When will we be able to live for ourselves, is it not enough that we’re raised from childhood to have the likes and dislikes of our founding fathers and mothers. To be just like everyone else is fine but to be someone unique and different is frowned upon, Criticized, and given negativity.

Childhood, a promising time for life. So full of possibilities, growth, and Encouragement. But when we age we get grinded down to barely hanging on. Negativity and criticism becomes the nightmare we’ve never imagined. It consumes our thoughts and pulls us slowly into a darker and rougher life. Taking our dreams and destroying them only for us to become emotionally unstable and negative towards life. The life in which we once thought was our friend, has now become our enemy.

The age of deception and false beliefs needs to end, if not now then when? when will we as independents stand up for what we want to do with ourselves? Happiness isn’t bought, it’s gained. So many people are material and so into objects as if they’d die without them. Electronics are useful but don’t have to be the center of someone’s life. Parents might say having a house instead of an apartment is better, but it only causes more of life’s complicated issues. Bills on top of bills, just because one thing seems better it isn’t always what it seems like in the long run. So many people buy the newer and better items and guess what happens, No doubt they fall in debt and lose it all any ways.

Become who you want to be and nothing more or less. Wear and speak how you wish to, take a stand and be who you were meant to be. Dreams are meant to be sought out and lived not buried under the rug while someone else dictates your every move in life.

We tend to fall short of glory within ourselves due to outside voices and judgement calls from others.

I just felt like writting something to remind myself I'm living for myself not someone else.

Darlin'... you're 22, you will be rewriting yourself many times before your boat comes home to shore... but keep pondering and reflecting, makes for much more interesting people who actually learn to know themselves. Good job. wine

A Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

How true! When I was 22 I dreamed of making it with every woman in the western hemisphere. Over time, I rewrote that dream many times..first down to just my country, then my state, down to my city, then to a city block, down to just my street.....finally to just settling for a friendly smile from the clerk at 7-11 rolling on the floor laughing

Great advice busyguy. Motivational writer Barbara Sher claims that if none of us had given up doing the stuff we liked doing as kids, we'd all be happier and more successful. She says that we should still be roller skating, buying Barbie dolls and climbing trees.

But you're cute flirty... sure a smile at the 7/11 is enough?

I made my childhood dreams a reality.Worked hard played hard life was good. About 10 years ago I awoke from a dream and started seeing the reality of the world around me.Things were not right in the world,it could be a much better place.I discovered carburetors on the US patents web sight that could get 200 miles to a gallon in 1933 with many more after that. Many inventors died/murdered trying to get there technology to market.I was met with threats trying to make that dream come true.

Then I discovered that there was a clean unlimited supply of electricity that was available since the early 1900.

Once again my life was threatened for trying to make a dream come true.

Then I discovered that a good majority of our medical system is a outright fraud. Suppressed inventions that could save lives and the deliberate poisoning of food, water and air or a least profit driven disregard for human life. There are things that one can do in this realm without having ones life threatened but there are limits that I will not get into.

If one lives in America they think of freedom or used to anyway. Those are 3 major dreams of mine that have been crushed by fascism.

Much of our history has been hidden or rewritten to keep status quote.

The Movie the Matrix comes to mind.

The thing is, now matter what, nobody can take your dreams away.Even by threatening your life. In the end what is good and right ALLWAYS prevails!

This is part of a world wide wake up project. KYMATICA

I live my dreams... and the ones Im not living Im working towards.

I waited until I was 45 and in a position to persue a childhood dream. I packed myself off to TAFE and studied my Certificate II & III in floristry.

I am now starting my own floristry business, and just got the proof for my flyers on Friday. I'll be sending back my OK tonight, and in a few days they'll be going out to homes in my area. grin

I have the plans for my straw bale house, even know where I will buy the land ... when I get enough money to turn that dream into a reality.

I have the pony that I ALWAYS wanted, he lives in a paddock down the road from my house, and I visit him every day.

There is no reason why people cant live their dreams, its just that we have to understand that some dreams take work, and planning, and like all good things we might just need to wait a while.. grin
