To what extent really does someone's picture on here mean to you??
I see so much importance being placed on them...the poses..the outfits...the degree of seductivity...etc etc...How in the world do you know that is a picture of them in the first place??...How do you know how old that picture is??...and how did you arrive at the conclusion that this "picture" says it ALL about them??
a picture is no where as important as the person it represents to me.. however at somepoint its nice to put a face to the people i've come to know.. as far as knowing how old it is.. and if its really them.. i can only have faith that they are being honest with me unless i find out otherwise..
as far as me.. a few ppl on here have viewed me on web cam and can infact vouch that i'm who i am.. lol..
being a visual person it for me is just a face I can place with the words. The rest I take on faith as the immage they wish to display is what they wish us to think and thats ok for me.
Should I really become interested in someone on here and she misslead me with a false picture I would view as lying but yet give her a chance to explane.
I hate lyres; to me it is one of the lowest forms of life.
But let’s say she had a physical impairment and was a fried of not being excepted by those on the site but wanted to part of something.
As the nice I am I would understand that and encourage her to me more accepting of herself and let people no the truth about her and continue to consider her a friend.
A picture may be worth a thousand words.....and either deter or attract a person...or give a particular first impression...however, how many people once you really go to know them, resemble anything on the inside that they do on the out? Can't judge a book by it's cover....
I guess sometime next month I will have to take new pitures again and post a new one to update everyone on any changes in my look. Well, at least I post them with dates on them and this lets me know if an update is due, the last one was in July.
I just thought my personality shone through on the forum and that is what people would go by. That is what I mostly go by and also I will pull up someone's profile. I might even pull up a profile more then once, because their comments on a forum are so different from what I believed about them.
Hey Izzy...nice to hear some real "honesty" here for a change...whether its agreed upon or not...its still "real"
I am trying to understand this thing about pictures...I really really am...Beachfarmers comment this morning about "exotic/enigmatic" pics being the ones to catch his eye really got me thinking...as well as someone suggesting that i might want to try posting an "average" pic of myself...hmmmm
First of all if i want to see "average" of me...I look in the mirror..if i want a "keepsake" its because on that day i may be looking or wearing something that i think is out of the norm for me...I thought thats why people take pics of themselves...personally i don't care to have a selection of pictures of me...I already know what i look like...
Also..when people go out for a night on the town...don't they dress up? Who puts on their "just hanging about" clothes to hit the clubs at night..or to go to a party??..and isn't it for the same reason that people put pics up here that would "simulate" that (the dating scene)...why would anyone put up pictures that do not show themselves in the best light???
I am sooo confused about this picture thing....really
It's funny how everybody says the politically correct thing....what a load of crap...especially for the guys who are hard wired for visual.
Back a year ago I posted with no pic , getting my feet wet. Hardly anybody knew I was alive till I posted a pic. A few People who I got to know I sent pics and they were like "My God ...why don't you have a pic posted"? They were naturally assuming I was Atilla the hun or something because I didn't post.
Looks do mean a lot, people just don't have the balls to admit it. Jesus how can you say they don't with the Acting, Fashion and Advertising world being what it is? Everything about our culture screams how important looks are. How bout the cosmetic industry?? Wonder how many woman here don't use a stitch of make up?? Looks don't mean anything Yeah right!
