venusenvy: Its a wonderful thing when weve done the best job we could as parents, and the day comes when we realize they have grown up to be great people making good decisions for themselves with thier heads on straight...it kills me and makes me proud all at the same time
I know just what you mean. My son took possession of his new flat last night, and started ripping up old lino, I brought over a latter so he could paint...I told him how proud I am of him. So at 25, an intelligent, happy and capable young man, he is leaving the nest. I've been a single parent for 22.5 years. My job is done.
.....But I've already got a prospective lodger waiting
englishelegance: Hi everyone, my youngest son Richard is going to Scotland for two years, his girl has been at Glasgow Uni for the last two years and has another two years to go. Am VERY close to my boys and will miss him,...but....it does my heart good to see how very in love Rich and Charlotte are and that he has given up his job here to be with her. Hes landed a great job though and im really pleased for him but oh....gonna miss him...Planning a great farewell tomorrow...
How proud you must be of your son's happiness and achievements. That just means a trip to Scotland awaits you this year, right?
Crystal29: Hi Pat...have you sorted out the venue/date etc??
Not yet seeing Ralph this weekend ....Looking as though 24 apr or 1 of may and venue need to find out if folks are up for a meal etc .....Hotels can be booked online at £20 to £ 30 in the city centre if done in advance so next ten days or so for details

Both dates are good for me....it will be light evenings and should be nice and warm by then so maybe we can encourage fellow CS'ers to come from further afield for this meet...Im sure I could talk a couple of my Irish and English friends into coming up/over...maybe it would be a good idea to put up a signup thread and get an idea of numbers?.....
