pedro27: i had psychosis many times, i used to think it was a curse
Believe me, it can be a curse if its not controlled. I had a big problem with auditory hallucinations and even with medication, my ears will still play tricks on me.
I had psychosis more than once, thought I was being spied on 24/7, thought everyone was my enemy, and more :\
I would describe Schizophrenia in many ways but fun would not be one of them. Thank god I found the right medication for me (different meds affect different people different ways).

Ccincy: A friend of mine's sister has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and she takes no meds for it.It's so sad to see anyone like this.
I take medications for it. I can not imagine how my life would be now if I was not on medications. The woman you speak of really should consider trying medications.
This condition will never go away, medications only help manage it, not cure it. Having said that, medications is still probably the best front line treatment for the condition.

We've ried to talk to her about it but she says it's all a private matter.
You are mistaken, schziophrenia does not have alter egos, you have confused this with dissociative Identity Disorder. A common misconception that is influenced by the media. So get your facts straight before you start making fun!!

Lobotomy's I think is where they actually remove a small part of the brain, its only done if a person is "untreatable" and there is absolutely no other choice for the persons own sake.
