I guess, I should add that this is a ~ 3 million mile wide Country and it is going to vary from State to State even within some of the same States or areas. Each State is almost like a small country in themselves with different rules spoken and unspoken on what is acceptable and why. || BTW what does the last one in your list mean?

Mnowsa has been a CS member for a very long time. We have had different political views but rest be assured, if he called me dear, I would not take it as an offense. He is truly one of the very politest,nicest and decent guys on the forums. One of the CS gems for sure amongst the many male gems that are here.
The scammers that email us with the Dearie lines make me puke. And the rest of their Dearie email is dribble.

term of endearment(some in this country seem to find it offensive. Don't know why)
Some people are just offended by usage of endearment terms when the one using it isn't close to the one receiving..
As said before...lighten up....taking life too seriously takes years off your life span

Here in Tenerife there are quite a few Indian & Pakistani people, and some of those are friends of ours. I find that they use the term 'dear' as some English people call each other 'love' or 'duck' or 'hen' purely as a friendly saying.
Forgive me if I am wrong but surely it is simply a custom, and not an insult.
