Who would want to take on the job? If that person lost their seat in the election they would look very daft. A leader of FF with no electoral mandate.

It speaks volumes to me when I know how passionate the Irish people are about their independance, that they were relieved to see the IMF arrive!

That's how much faith we have in Cowen and how popular he is!conversing

he is hated. The last poll had him at 10 while strangely lenihan remains most popular finance spokesperson cross party

I'd say the lads are being very well behaved at the moment. No doubt at home hoovering, cooking cleaning and feeding their wives cocktails and exotic fruit as they lick their feet!laugh

Cowen wants to meet FF tds individually who may have "reservations" about his leadership, who will suceed him if the backbench TDS have the cajones to get rid of him, Micheal Martin, Lenihan or Hanafain no obvious sucessor. If they get rid of Cowen FF would probably save about 10-15 seats in the next election.

i think they thought the could struggle through an election with him, but are realising they could now end up with less than 20 seats, under martin i could see them winning up to 40
