Do we really have any influence on the way we develop, or is it all genetic and predetermined, even to the type of people we fall in love with, perhaps we have no influence at all only hopes. What do you think????

I used to wonder that myself, and never did find a satisfactory conclusion.

I'd divide it fairly equally between genetics, learned behaviour, and choice.wine

I believe that even with front separating one country, one nation, or even if you put a glass bubble in a community, even so, every thing, every event or action of each one of us contributes both to the beautiful as ugly.
In other words, for the development or maintenance of the planet as a whole need to think and act with love, that determines the direction and / or maintenance of our species

I think its a mixture of Nature and Nurture.

What percentage Im not sure but I do believe nothing is predetermined when it comes to decisions we make in our lives. I think that our experiences have more of an influence than our genetics.

I think its a mixture of nature and nurture and experiences and the balance can shift depending on an endless number of different factors. Everyone is an individual and even twins can have different life experiences, while having the same genes.

I think its a mixed bag, Im sure we are born with predetermined genetic traits. Then through out our childhood its more adaptive learning. As we mature into adulthood we carry all this with us and become more proactive in our behavior. I thinks thats more when we adopt mindsets, outlook and attitudes and consequent behaviours. wine

I believe that our experiences have more of an influence than our genetics when it comes to decision making, especially as we grow older.

I believe life is what you make it, so I guess that means we have a lot of influence on how we develop and what kind of person we become. You start with what you are given, genetics and environment, then go from there. I can't stand it when people say, 'that's how I was raised' as an excuse for how they act or think. Don't they have any will of their own?
