demonfairy: Has being on a dating site, changed your way of thinking about relationships and dating? If so how and what have you learned?
I've learned many things about relationships here and sometimes have had clarity of life issues but still I'm the same. The sure thing is you can meet someone here but the actual face to face encounter is the one that gives you that last answer...

I agree, you don't really know till you meet in person
PandoraX: I think the non-religious on my profile helps. And when I do get a religious one, I just tell them right off I'm an atheist and it shuts them up.
Well, same here, but when I tell them I´m an atheist, they quadruple their efforts...

I am learning about new places & people, & how much we are alike. I may never "meet" anyone that will be my "soul mate" but I am making some great new friends here.
The first thing i learned, since the first 9 internet dating programs i have been on is (1) Half of the people that choose to contact you lie about their location and their age. (2) Some will make a beautiful profile with no photo. EXAMPLE - there was a V E R Y, V E R Y B E A U T I F U L white noun american girl that contacted " me " of all people. Told me she was new to this internet dating, said she saw my profile and wondered if we could be friends cause she don't have any. What i knew from her profile was she was 50, single, lonely, and live in a TOWN that i was famillar with cause i lived not to far from. THINKING we have something in comound. We start talking (using no cam) and i made this statement " LOOKING at you photo,U R very perty, but you don't look anything like you're even close to 50yr.s old, U look more like you R 30 something!" She said I'am SORRY, I'am really 35. (That WAS her first LIE) then i mention the town shes living in and she said " OOH I use to live there, I helping my grandma who's very ill over her in Africa. (That was her 2nd LIE). Next she ask me if i had a (cam) camera on my computor, i said yes. She ask if i'd send her money to get her one, they only cost 200.00 there. i offered to buy one here under 20.00 and send it. she refused MY gift but still wanted the cash. I figured if my gift was'nt good enough she could find somebody else to spoil her. cause i am not rich!! i stopped communicating and DELETED her as my IM contact. Afterwords start learning more about computor S C A M S.

I've learned loads in so many ways from being on this site, but specifically regarding relationships - I'm about as much relationship material as chocolate is teapot material.
