Ok I have a new friend coming over, actually she has been here for the last 3 nights but that is another thread Tonight I am cooking her diner and it started me thinking..
So two questions ….1, do women like having diner cooked for them? She seemed very happy about it. ….2, more important what is your best date recipe?
Here is one of mine
My favorite date recipe is something I know she will like:
I am fixing fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp and mushrooms sauce, a shrimp Cesar salad. (Yes I found out that her favorite food is shrimp) and a wine, a white merles . No bread because she is anti-bread and claims that bread is the devils doing. And chocolate dipped strawberries that are to die for.
My Alfredo sauce is made form scratch with creams and cheeses and goats milk. The fettuccini is store bought I will have to know her a lot better before I start making that from scratch. The chocolate dipped strawberries come form this little shop in downtown Tempe and as I said to die for.
um well i have many favorites. mine is probably chicked alfredo. that is so good. try other fruits instead of just strawberries. i mean strawberries are good and stuff but try bananas. ha ha.
i love to have a man cook for me.. but i also enjoy cooking together..
i'm happy with something simple grilled chicken or a good steak.. a baked tator and a salad but thats just me.. even better order a big pizza .. and for the sweets.. choc. dipped strawberries or ice cream cones..
You sure can and the good news you will not eat any leftovers.
How does a Chicken breast stuffed with a rice stuffing and a side of freshly Sautéed veggies and red wine and for desert I an seeing you with a freshly baked peach cobbler and a scope of ice-cream
no hon, make it an outdoor date in the afternoon, put some candles out there and some nice music. After you eat you can star gaze while in each other arms. A date is what you make of it. You can even have ice cream with your favorite topping for dessert. Have fun!
Ooh, good call. Now I just need a way to pass that off as my own idea, because anyone who knows me knows that I'd be incapable of thinking of something like that.
how about what not to have? garlic! if you want anybody to kiss at the end of the nite (or between bites) you need to stay away from the garlic but I'm a cheeseburger kinda girl or chicken-I'm not picky as long as I am with the person whose making my heart pitter patter
Well... Yes, it seems that (most) women do at least occasionally enjoy a man cooking for them.
Now - Being an outdoorsman and living alone all of my cooking is done either over an open fire or on a small wood stove. Sooo... I usually start off with a garden grown spinach salad, followed by good lean fire grilled steak with made from scratch dutchoven biscuits. There will usually be some sort of vegetable - Maybe a good baked potato or grilled carrots fresh from the garden. This is followed by a dutchoven cobbler or upsidedown cake for desert. For drinks there will be either wine, beer or tea depending upon the time of year and the personal preference of the person I am dining with.
Being a hunter, I have also made the main meat course bacon wrapped dove kabobs, venison steak or grilled pheasant breast. There are other "recipes" as I enjoy variation, but these are the simplest and easiest to prepare.
Flour, water, butter, sugar and a cup of dried dates...some salt... mix all together and pour into a loaf pan...put in moderate oven till done and stuff...better the next day.
