O wow..you read it! Yes, and I am amazed how well she emerged from all of that. But, at least the jews her and her family were hiding made it out safe (I am correct on that, right?)...so at least her family did not die in vain...

Are most people really so ignorant about this subject that you guys need to post sites to read about it? Ithink most people already know about the holocaust.

This was a world war fought by many countries and many people lost there lives. We should always remember and should never forget the people who died for us.
My great grand father fought in the first World War
My grand father fought in Italy in the second World War
I,m very proud of them and i will always remember what they did for freedom.

I am not saying there should not be a remembrance day, I am saying that remembering what happened in the past is not very fruitful unless we apply it to the present and the future.

Laura25: You are right Deus - we can't forget

and

we do not forget.

But guess what?

Never did I see anyone of this usual CS hatred brigade bulging in to someone's birthday thread fuming with hatred for the person who's being honored and demanding to celebrate every single person who was ever born,
right now and here - in this very thread regardless of their birthday date.

Also, somehow I think they wouldn't show up at someone's wake foaming at the mouth while chanting insults for the deceased and his/hers family

and demanding an explanation why and how this particular deceased is any better then all the others, because in fact we are all mortal.
...and since none of them do ^that,

they{the mob} know the difference, no?

P.S.
I don't even start on CS rules to keep on a thread Opening Post topic -
it's a common sense.
