Can you shed some light on this please. A guy sends an email or a message in flowerbox. You start to talk via email on this (or any) site and it goes well for quite a few weeks. You think ah ha this guy might actually be interested so you ask for his mobile number. He says uh oh its to soon, we need to email some more. I explain that if i call you my number will show up and not be hidden.

I am on a "Dating" site to do just that, not look for a husband, live-in lover, a place to stay, money or an email friend. (enjoy the forums too)

We can all be suspicious but how long should i keep tapping the keys typing without feeling the joke is on me. I know i am not the only one getting older by the minute.

signed......... dateless NOT desperate. cheers

I think a lot of people are weary of giving out mobile numbers.

I find women are usually more cautious with this. I certainly have given my mobile number out and regretted it later.

I'd also be cautious that he wasn't married that is why he is delaying handing it over.

There isn't a single answer to this.

It many just be the fact he has had a bad experience with handing out his mobile number and wants to wait a bit longer.

Or it could be the fact that his wife just walked in the room and looked over his shoulder.uh oh

Personally I think the best way is until you actually meet in person, fall for nothing, keep an open mind, but closed heart. thumbs up

Had almost same problem. In 3 months Ive emailed 2 ladies, chatted for several days and then emailed for a couple of weeks the minute I suggested coffee they blocked their profile, well least 1 of them had the decency to eamil(sorry maybe some other time the other just didnt answer at all. Could it be I was reluctant to offer my number?

Signed .......... not desperate either.

I have the opposite problem. I get email addy's and mobile and even landline numbers in the first few messages here but I won't exchange numbers. I get some asking my kids names and most of the time I won't give that info out either.
Thing is i've stated in my profile that i'm only looking for a chat and chat only. Now I would've thought that told people I don't want to meet anyone.
So I tell these guys I don't want to meet up because for several reasons-i'm pregnant so not looking to date, I have 2 kids and I have no support so my kids are with me pretty much 24/7 so i'm not able to meet even if I wanted to. I'm straight up and honest about what I want from this place yet they still try to get me to date them.
But i'd imagine if I wanted to date, i'd have the opposite problem, just like the OP lol.
Can't win either way.

.........with cold wet noses.laugh

Seriously though men say they like honest assurtive women but as soon as you are upfront they (some not all) turn to jelly. Maybe i am not playing the game according to their rules.......screw the rules, there is nothing wrong with a woman asking and paying for a mans drink/dinner. I think you may have a point about being scared of redheads. WE ARE NOT ALL FIERY DRAMA QUEENS OK.cheering
