ie: sticking a solitary banana up on top of your shopping trolley
Guys who have earings, left ear tough, right ear gay, both ears bi, well that's what it used to mean in the 80's, probably a lot of meanings or no meaning these days.
Men walking around with triathlon shorts looking like they have a carrot up their butt - deffinately gay
People with tatts, peircings all over their face and body, dread locks, these people used to be called ferrals in Byron Bay, now it's quite normal to look this way and abnormal to have straight cut hair and no body decoration.
Sneakers over the power lines - drugs are sold here

Do you know of any other similar things to everyday life?

Well I've come across what seems to be a hidden meaning to everyday things to a lot of people apparently confused

No doubt a little off topic, but it's the one where you work in a store, and at the end of the day you've packed up, turned all the lights off and people start wandering in and "browsing"??

What is with that doh

They sometimes (not always) at least have the courtesy to mention that they know you're closing (closed mumbling ) but of course won't mind if they have a "quick look"?!

Smilingly, we oblige, up to a point, when we're actually thinking "We trade 7 days a week and we've been here for 8 and half hours ... where've you been all day?"

Grrrrr mumbling

I don't mind, I even open up if we're not open and someone is browsing the books in the window.
Any there that you like as I can get them out if you like.
At the end of the day every $$$ adds up to more t/over in my pockets.
I can understand if you're an employee though.

Yeah, well as I said, we smile and are never rude, but it seems to be happening more and more conversing

I honestly think that people have got so used to extended (and varied, depending on the retailer) trading hours, that they figure they'll go shopping for furniture at 5.30pm on a Tuesday afternoon dunno or look stunned when they realise we are closed at 5pm on a Saturday confused

Being in the country, a lot of out of towners are stunned when they turn up at 1pm Sat. to find half the town closed and the Bakery not making sandwiches but closing up.

Little quirks like playing with your hair, crossing your arms and stroking your neck say a lot more about us than we think.

I have always had trouble with it personally.
What does the hair curl around your finger, the stroke of the kneck, the tongue on tip of finger all mean?

The length of your forearm is a 1/4 of your waist. So if you don't want to try on a pair of pants, fold the waist in half and measure it along your forearm. It works for me.

When my kids were young, I told them if they told lies they would get lumps on their tongue. When ever I thought they were telling lies I would make them poke out their tongue. Depending on how long it took for them to poke out their tongue and the look on their face, I could tell if they were lying. Worked for yrs until they learnt about taste buds professor
