There is a -very- big difference between personal security involving someone in that position and religious beliefs. If I were wearing a veil, I'd much rather be patted down for weapons and the like than asked to remove my veil, all things the same.
If they don't respect the religious aspect or the one for concealed weapons.. the meeting isn't meant to happen, and shouldn't proceed in any fashion.
I have been in a similar situation..not about a veil....but with a ceremonial dagger!!!!
When I worked in the prison...there was a man that came in to visit an inmate carrying a ceremonial dagger!!!! He expected to be able to carry this dagger with him to the visit, which was in an open visitors area for inmates and the visitors on their list!!!!!!!
He was promptly informed by me that he could not take the dagger into the visitors area..He was not impressed and wanted me to call my boss on shift!!!!
We both explained to him that the safety of lives and the institution takes precedence over a religious freedom to carry a dagger!!!!
Perhaps in this instance it is the same type of thing!!!!!!
Some women wear the veil and some dont, by what ive seen of the women with no viel I think they should keep them on,cos there must be an ugly tree over here and all the women fell out of it
I don't think any of us should be forced to dress a particular way, especially by a man rejected from the tory party (which of course was his true calling.)
Actally I'm serious, if I want to go out in a coconut shell bikini and superman pants, who on earth has the right to tell me that I'm not gelling with the community? I can think of at least 2 mental health shelters where I'd be considered a spiritual LEADER!
All of the threads that were on the first page got pushed to the second when one decided to spam thread creation last night.. so I brought them back by posting again.
The way I see it... a ceremonial dagger is much more deadly than a veil, if you keep your eye on things. Odds are they aren't going to try to strangle someone with the veil, whereas the dagger would be a high-priced commodity for any in prison. Inherent risk plays a part, along with trust and just how crazy one is.
well since the retailers holiday of Halloween is upon us. Some stores in my area require all masks be removed B4 entering store... as for the drivers license and picture ID's, yes remove the mask ( veil) shield , shroud whatever the religous or ethnic or popular name of it is called today.
As for Jax maybe he should try an alternate method to get her to remove the veil, if she that devout about covering her facial features Jax might suggest she wear a bag over her head.... sorta like attack this thinly veiled issue from another perspective.
I know when women visit other countries that have rituals of attire the American woman are urged by the State department to adhere to their rules. and if she plans on entering Jax's bed the adherence to rules should apply equally to her.
This makes pretty good sense, except you forgot about the part where muslims/islamics, think that everyone should accommodate them in every respect, they should have their own set of rules of conduct, and no one else's are relevant to them. Aren't all unbelievers "infidels" and such, not to be tolerated? They have no interest, much less respect or consideration, for the rules or concerns of anyone else.
Well I see your point as to the risk factor...but I was thinking more of disguises and such and just the overall sense of security measures and safety issues that come into play especially since 911!!!!!!
I would assume that one thing is not distinguishable from the other when there have been certain safety measures and guidelines put in place!!!!!
