I think its inhumane and cruel to let Human Beings suffer long, slow, agonizing deaths. It should be a choice in those cases blues

In a truly free society there is no need to discuss whether something someone decides to do of their own free will is illegal or immoral. Choices are choices and you should be free to make what you deem reasonable or not based on you own beliefs and information.

cheers

Would anyone like to be kept alive by machines.I know I wouldn't wish to be kept alive that way.

If there's no way a patient is going to recover and if someone can't afford to pay for medical care then they should have the right to euthanasia.

as a somewhat sane adult I agree, but I have to think of the underaged. Sometimes, some of them can make the most intelligent of choices when they are left to think about it for themselves after understanding what they are thinking about. The trouble I think is 99.99999% of them would not be left to think about, they would be badgered by relatives or "do-gooders" who cannot think objectively. I hate to bring religion into this, but that's what part of it would be.
The scary thing in my mind would be that if a guardian of a child said okay to euthanasia for a child who really did not have a chance for living a life of quality or even one tenth of the quality of the life Nick Vujicic has...could this acceptance of euthanasia set the stage for society being conditioned to say that all children born with health problems are better off being put out of their misery?

If you have seen of or heard of Nick Vujicic

Im not an advocate of any kind of hard drugs in any way. Ive lost people Ive loved in life to them. But I do think that administering heroin to terminally ill suffering people would be a kindness to them. sad flower

Under aged people should be choice of the parent's. Not a financial one but one of compassion in knowing that their loved one will be better off not having to live like a vegetable.

As far as comatose their is a thing called advanced directives that you can fill out at any dr. office here in the US. This assures that you have complete control of your fate. I have one that specifically says do not recessitate. I don't want to be a veggie. Also their are health power of attorneys here that allows you to give a loved one after discussion on how you want them to handle your affairs in case of problems. My dad has one and I and my sister a re first and 2 in line in case one is not around.

One case maybe, the next case maybe not. I fear where euphanasia would lead if it were to be legalised. The law could become so Liberal that euphanasia became a norm, and we lived in a society where we kill off the sick & elderly instead of caring for them

it would be the sick or elderly's choice to go, not their relatives would it not?

I think if the request is made in the presence of two doctors, one related to the caes, the other not,and a stipendry magistrate, then there is a valid case for the euthanasia.
If i am ever in that position, and able to,i will take my own life.It would be my decision.

Yes!
No sense to make life miserable for a person and his/her family.

My God might forgive me!
