Maybe I'm being cynical However I don't believe in Psychics at all, I think some people need to get real and stop investing money in psychics and fortune tellers and the likes, I could never understand how some people would blindly believe in something like this, Its like believing in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, Why are some people so Gullible?

What you say is very true but the Psychic Business is just that and they are giving false hope to vulnerable people and that cannot be right.

I think a lot of them prey on vulnerable people who are at a low point in their lives. It is despicable what some of them do just to line their own pockets.
Unfortunately without realizing it we can reveal a lot about ourselves to another person sometimes not even verbally but with a gesture. These predators only talent is being able to read people and pick up on this stuff to use against a person who is vulnerable. JMO and if people find comfort from it fine but I am a total non believer. I have gone to two of these people in the past, because I was curious and did not believe that they had any psychic abilities, on both occasions I was proven right. One of them even told me that I was very hard to read lol probably cos I did not feed her any extra information apart from what was outwardly apparent like my accent and my age. I think it is grand for entertainment purposes but when people start getting into debt then it is despicable on the part of the con artist posing as a physcic.

I went to see Tony Stockwell last year when he was up in Dublin in UCD it was fairly intresting he picked up on some amazing stuff my Great Grandmother was a Psychic and my Auntie has the gift aswell and can freak you out sometime with the information she can come out with.

Maybe there are some people out there with a genuine gift, my only experience has been with the commercial con artists. I have heard of genuine people in different areas. It does interest me though and would love to meet a genuine one.
I find the whole idea interesting but I am not overly concerned about knowing my future, what happens happens.

I totally agree with you there they are alot of fake ones out there i dont like those phone companies where you can ring one up over the phone and they give you a reading there and then i reckon that a scam.The gift in our family has been passed down through the generations.

Like I said I have gone out of curiousity, usually after being told" this one is amazing...knew stuff no one else did etc.".
I went to one in NY once. She was a fantastic actress (musta paid better than the waitressing lol). She went into a trance and all...started scribbling on a writing pad. Nothing made any sense to me at the time or afterwards (she gave me a tape).
One strange thing however.... She said to me, you will be taking a lot of photographs and you will need to buy a good camera if you dont already have one...
I had just come from buying a pretty expensive camera as I was taking photography as part of a college course. Being the sceptic that I am, I had the camera totally hidden in my rucksack( no camera store bag or anything to be seen), I cant see any way that she could have known I had a camera in my bag

I wouldn't have believed in any of this rubbish over the years and still don't for the better part... That said, a friend of mine call a Psychics on line crowd and put me on to a woman in Wales..... Who with no information other than my name... told me all about my parents and their Illnesses, their death, my relationship then, my next relationship and that I'd have two sons in the very near future... that was 7 years ago.... My eldest is 6 next month... She told me specific things that she couldn't have known... It FREAKED the crap out of me... mostly as it was over a phone... with NO help from me at all... I remained silent till she finished

Just came across this...I didn't know that these techniques even existed...
So I guess that con artists being able to read people and pick up on things is not a talent either but something that they have studied

Possibly she might have thought that I was a tourist and that I should buy a good camera,Then again she was supposedly so "good" that I had to wait a while to get an appointment with her at least two months and they had a contact number for me...landline pre mobile phones lol...the dark ages lol. The number was also listed in my name. But like you said she might just have taken me for a tourist.

I would get my tarot cards read about once a year pretty random stuff really! Good fun etc but that's it I do believe that there are people out there with a gift but sadly many people do exploit people and can read people well enough to make sense to the individual and make a fortune.
That said! I went to a Medium once who genuinely surprised and shocked me she could tell me stuff/memories happenings that in my life that there was no way of knowing, she also brought up people that I had never heard off I had to ask my mother who confirmed they were true needless to say shocking... all very positive stuff she also recorded our conversation which I brought home to my family who were equally shocked needless to say I NEVER WENT BACK OR EVER HAD MY CARDS DONE I WAS SO FREAKED OUT
