My son Steven is 23 now but when he was about 3 months old my then wife and I went to a fast food restaurant one day. It was in the summer and Stevie was only wearing a fresh diaper and a little polo shirt. We got our food and sat next to a lady who was at least 80 years old. Stevie was on my lap and I could see out of the corner of my eye the old lady looking at him and smiling. Finally she said "It's been ages since I held a baby."
I looked at my wife and she looked at me. It was one of those moments when words weren't needed to convey a message. I got up with little Stevie and gently put him in the ladies arms. She wrapped her arms around him teddybear and her face seemed to light up with a huge smile. She said "oh how I miss that wonderful smell of baby powder and baby shampoo, it's been so long." I smiled at my wife knowing that I probably just made this ladies day and gave her a memory she would probably remember the rest of her days. Stevie was a people person almost from birth so I was sure he wouldn't object to being held by a stranger. I let her hold him for about 5-7 minutes and said, "He can get a little heavy" and took him back. We ate our lunch and chatted with the lady and she thanked us several times and we left. I never saw her again. It's funny the things you remember isn't it?

Precious story ooby...U made her day....When my grandmother was in the nursing home, my then 2 year old was the absolute apple in her eye visited her at least three times a week. Her eyes lit up and she smiled until it was time for us to leave. He was an absolute handful, and would be all about the room, until he got right in front of her and he would almost move in slow motion and rub her hands gently. Even at age two he recognize how frail she was. It would take us forever to get out of home because he had to touch each of her friends and give a hug to them all....Those are pretty special memories....Thanks for taking me back there...I got a big smile going now...wave wave

I work with ladies like that all the time, week in and week out. One is bed bound and her family almost never brings her grandbabies/greatgrand babies to visit. I've worked with this person for a very long time and through pictures she's watched my babies grow. She's always saying how she wishes she could see them, but we both know HIPPA prevents it with strict fines.

devil Last Halloween I took my kids to a different neighborhood to trick-or-treat, they were dressed as a witch and a black kitten. My clients room mate opened the door and my girls went back to her room to trick-or-treat. She was still smiling and giggling the next day about 'her' trick-or-treater's.

I feel guilty about exposing the loop-hole in HIPPA, but she was so happy. detective
