Hello Kiddywinks!
Last night I got some more bad news of this thing called CANCER!
I work every year for Cancer UK, and its hard being a Volunteer for all the Race for Life events.
I lost my Mum at 44 to it, Dad at 64, and so many friends close to me. Now facing another one.
I should be long dead as it tried to get me too, but here I am today.
Do we do enough for this charity.
Is there ever to be a cure?
Anyone this has touched wish to add. hug

Yes, my ex-mother-in-law. She had her uterus removed because of cancer, then she got breast cancer and had her lymph nodes removed and had to have chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She is recovering still from these and only recently had her last dose of radiotherapy. Her hair is finaly beginning to grow back and her fingernails too. I don't know for sure but she may have many tests to undergo before she is given the all clear.

Yes i lost a member of my family to cancer - Hodgkins - after all the chemo and radiotherapy - it wasnt the cancer that killed him but the side effects of the treatment.

Yes.....last weekend in fact, my friend lost her husband to cancer.....the sad part was that it was only in the last 12 days of his life that he got in to a hospice where he could receive pain controlling medication.......

For alcoholics, drug users, smokers, substance abusers who end up addicted....for them, treatment is readily available.

The thing that rankles me is if you live in certain areas, some cancer treating drugs are not available to you by your area health authority.....dunno

Just a little story here....related to cancer treatment.....

3yrs ago my daughter was seriously ill with Crohns Disease......for months she had to spend a few hours on a hospital ward every six weeks or so to have a drug intraveniously......this drug is used for cancer patients and costs the hospital £4,000 for each treatment, the drug is effective in some cases of Crohns Disease. The specialists treating my daughter had to argue the case on my daughters behalf to be allowed this particular drug........it should be readily available to every cancer patient who needs it.
