For me it means finding a good source for downloading ebooks to read. My electronic library contains probably 10,000 volumes on a wide range of topics. Good grief, I need a life!

well I think it depends on the person
I have always been a bit of a loner and really prefer my own company or that of my sons and a very small handful of others - when I'm not alone, and I need more time alone than most to recharge and destress
so what I consider fine - others might find to be very lonely

Couldn't agree with you more Felix. People associate not living with someone as being lonely. Right now it's 11:10 p.m. where I am and I'm still in my jammies from last night. Couldn't do that if I was living with someone. I love living alone and I'm not lonely.

my kids were/are wonderful company - but as far as an adult relationship, intimacy & closeness I was never more alone than when married

sometimes I do get lonely tho - even tho I need less social activity than most - I like to have some -and living alone in a new city hasn't been easy
