The period of Classic Rock is considered to be from the 50’s to the 90’s because it’s the baby boom generation. Many musicians influenced each other, and some Classic Rock Bands still play Concerts.

What are your favorite Classic Rock Bands?

What a killer of a first album, sadly it was all downhill from here for Boston in my opinion...
This opener (foreplay) was one of the most exciting things i had heard untill i discovered Todd Rundgren and "Utopia" in 1977...

And before i forget...Deep Purple, Gillan period of course!

This clip is pretty recent with Steve Morse (ex Dixie Dregs) covering guitar, great to see IG has still "got the juice"...

Classic rock is rock music from Cream, Hendrix, Zeppelin up to about 1978/9 when punk and lots of other crap caused a big change in the music world.
Unfortunatly the change was for the worse.

The main classic rock bands were ::

The who
Hendrix
Cream
Jethro Tull
Yes
Pink Floyd
Steppenwolf
Deep Purple
Black Sabbath
Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin and a few more.............

After classic rock came:
The Police
Van Halen
U2 etc......................

Yes...unfortunately the era of Classic Rock ended in the early 90's with hip hop, rap and meaningless music like that.

My personal belief is that the great era of Classic Rock ended with the Suicide of Kurt Cobain.

Things always cycle around in life, and there are some new bands that have great new songs with the touch of Classic Rock Magic.

Nirvana - Lithium
