High Street retailer Next has raised its profit forecast for the year after the recent warm weather boosted sales.
For the 13 weeks to the end of April, sales were up 5.2% on a year ago.
The retailer now expects profits of between £535m and £585m for the full-year, a range about £15m ahead of its March estimate.
Next said that as well as the warm weather, much of the rise was also due to spending in anticipation of the royal wedding bank holiday.
Veritaas: So not one business in the whole of Ireland will benefit from this at all?
The tourist trade and all the rest will benefit from the influx of folk who will follow much the same as happened when Kennedy visited back in the 60's.
Prior to all the sad troubles in the 70's Ireland had many tourists from England,Scotland and Wales but this stopped.
Now it would greatly benefit Ireland to get it back.
cashy85: hahaha there wont be any extra trade from this its a pure waste of money when there is over 400,000 people out of work!
Manufacturing industry is the only thing making money in the country at the moment and 40 % of that goes to the UK according to RTE! I'm not even talking about extra trade. Then there are Irish companies working within the UK and many Irish people who choose to live and work in the UK! We need to be friends with our friends now more than ever.
