EagleWoman: CB may be if you read again the last paragraph of the op (the only bit she wrote herself) and really take in the meaning of her words. Would you wish on your son a wife/partner who needs him by her side for when she falls apart so that he has the responsibility of picking up the pieces so she can function?

Well I have a son, and I truly would not wish someone like that for him to share his life with.

We may have to agree to disagree on this one ...

to be honest my personal preference in partners does not come into it at all.

EagleWoman: Yes I have heard of loneliness CB, I have even experienced it ... I was married at the time and I wasn't alone.

I agree with you CB, loneliness does make a person reflect on the things they may miss in a partner.

And it certainly does not mean that they are desperate to be fooled by a predator. Especially in my case.

And here was I thinking that you where a whimpering little kitten!

ColonelBogey: Who is to say that she does not conduct herself as an independent emotionally balanced person? She states her independence in her op.

Who's to say?

Anyone who reads these words:

I've always needed a man in my life.I need someone to shake me when I' m being too much of a woman .When I'm too emotional to see clearly or when I'm lost and scared

If you think this is the description of an emotionally balanced person go with it, but I don't.

Even the strongest of people need emotional support. I read those statements as being metaphorical. My god I think that many Women can be too emotional for their own good!
At least she is honest about it.

Of course, I totally agree with your first sentence. Everyone needs emotional support.

What is not healthy is being dependent on the man in her life as the only source of support. Which she also states is WHY she has ALWAYS needed a man in her life.

We are argueing at cross purposes here.

ColonelBogey: There is evidence in this thread of women getting too emotional.
Maybe that is all the op was referring too?
How ironic!

Well if you think/feel that my responses are emotional, you need to re-read the thread
