People have asked me how I can adopt a dog from the pound, choosing only one and not wanting to take them all home.
I say, it's easy.
I don't chose the bull mastiff with the bits of school uniform between its teeth.
I don't choose the cute looking terrier that yaps so loudly and piercingly that it'll drive my neighbours nutty and risk my tenency not being renewed.
I don't pick a dog that's bigger than me, or small enough to get trodden on by kids running about the house.
I don't chose a dog that isn't compatible with the nature of the dog I already have.
Fussy? Or just sensible that once I make the commitment, I make it for life?
Oh yeah, it's always been love at first sight as well - they'll be one that makes my heart sing the moment I set eyes on him, or her.

I dont think its being fussy we change with age we realise that we can live alone happily being in love is not the be all and end all there are many loves you can fill your life with doesnt have to be romantic..Im starting to resemble a rusty old car the older I get..everytime I cough or splutter my radiator leaks and my exhaust blows out..it would take a hell of a brave man to live with me

i dont think (for me anyway), that its about being 'fussy'. I know what I want, and I know what I DONT want...and for me its mostly about how Im treated by the guy, and about respect. Disrespect is a dealbreaker for me.
Being fussy? No...I know that my needs are important, and that Im 'worth it' (without being conceited about it), and I dont think its 'wrong' that I put my needs up on my own personal pedestal, when wanting to welcome someone into my life...and me walking into his. Of course his needs matter too, Im not saying that at all...but we BOTH need to be happy. If I WASNT mindful of my own needs, yeah I may be in a relationship right now...but would I be happy? I dont think so.
