The rest of Europe knows that Germans are arrogant? Well, I am glad to see that you are the expert about what all of Europe seems to know... strikes me as rather arrogant... or are you perhaps sour because Germany basically owns Greece now? (Heck, if I am accused of being arrogant, I might as well live up to the accusation)

I was at school then, and had a Saturday job with a fruiterer and greengrocer. And the man who employed this glamorous au-pair would kindly chauffeur her, in his exquisite sports-car to our working-class neighbourhood so as to pick me up; and then to ferry us to a party, etc. Our neighbours, some in cloth caps or curlers, would come out and gather-round to gawp. It was like a film-scene
