underwaterman: not laughing at all star, trying to be part of the debate on the topic you posted, there is no aggression in my posts, I am putting a view is all.
let's remember...i'm not talking kangaroo's and rabbit's here
starcrossfish: BJ...if i can upload these pic's...i will show everyone, these guy's were not sedated...blood...everywhere...should i still upload...??!! graphic...i've stated that...
Maybe too graphic to put on here. Maybe photo bucket like UWM said then if ppl want to follow the link they can. I haven't used photo bucket so can't help with that but I'm sure someone will give instruction if you ask.
underwaterman: For Aussielegend, the question was about legal hunters, not poachers. It is the poachers who take no pride in a one shot kill etc. A hunter does not watch a frightened animal die, the animal is dead instantly and most times is not even aware of the hunter. I was suggesting that animals and our predecessors all became extinct and that is part of this world and the way it has always worked. People forget that we humans and all we do are part of nature. To argue otherwise is to suggest that chimps using tools to get termites is unnatural as well. Like it or not, we and what we do are all part of nature.
I will kindly say there are NO legal hunters in africa anymore once again only poachers the animals she stated underwaterman are from that continent. And id like to see these so called hunters in AFRICA not north america eating these animals as star stated and im not having ago at her.The good woman put up thread and i commented on it..we cant all agree with every thread people put up.Would be a tad boring.
Certainly am not questioning your word, and yes we all have crook ones, but the aim is always a one shot kill. I know that on a fe occasions when I have hit the road from my motorcycle, it is some time before one feels pain when major trauma is present. I also have at least one of my old dive team mates who was shot in the arm in vietnam. Adrenaline kept him from feeling much for an hour or so after he was hit. He was not even aware he had been hit. Hunters try for the one shot kill, and if they fail, they finishthe job as soon as possible to lessen the chance of the animal suffering.

I hunt, vermin or on the rare occasionaly something 4 a feed. I was brought up that you dont kill more than you can eat,NO SHOOTING IF THERES NOT A CLEAR SHOT . Whats your take on fishing then?.

Agreed Scanz, with fishing even catch and release could be considered cruel. One problem with today's society is that people rely on others to do their killing for them, whether it be war or food. This is virtually third party killing and absolves modern humans from any responsibility for the death of the animals they eat.
A tassie devil, yes, as i understand it they often suffer from a horrible disease, and given the chance I would put one down. Not a healthy one unless I was given an extremely convincing argument.

it also amazes me that unless its cute or cuddly half the people wouldnt give a dam, no 1 seem to jump up and down about the rights of so called uglier animals
My father has a property 20 kms outside walget on the darling river and twice a year we hunt ferrel cats.foxes.pigs.rabbits who are killing of our endagered species and destroying our eco system.Well kill them humanely and although its only a small part we contribute to it all helps.I think its big issue and more resourses must be put in place to wipe the threat to our wildlife and fauna.
Having said that, I personally believe that species that adapt to the changing world will survive no matter what. I firmly believe that one day humans will be extinct as well because we can only adapt ourselves and our environment so much. There are thousands of species that have become extinct since this world began and thousands of those were extinct before humans existed. Protect a species and it will survive a little longer, but often they are no longer the animal that was living wild and free.

I did hear and I believe I addressed that issue, I am forced to wonder however why concern for endangered animals and not animals generally. You called it murder, surely to kill an non endangered species is no less murderous that killing a protected species?? I am looking for your logic. This is how discussions work.
