Conrad73: Thought that happened to Peter!

.'Acts 10:14 "Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."

Acts 10:15 The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

Peter’s Vision
9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”

15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

Yes, I eat pork. It's particularly good as bacon, ham and sausage, but baby back ribs are awesome, too. Like the commercial in the US used to say, "Eat Pork - the other white meat".

Or as I like to say.... "Eat Salmon - the other pink meat".

Wow...i did not invent this myself. I made a small investigation and found all these:

Some people say that pigs are gene spliced human/wild boar mutants

Stewart Swerdlow (ex-Montauk) confirms this, as does David Boyle. The DNA is 98% identical.Domestic pigs are the only other animals apart from us who get sunburnt.

Also pig skin can be used in plastic surgery as it can be naturally accepted by the donor site, and I believe it is the only non-human skin source that can be used other than artificially created skin.

"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase." Deuteronomy 14:8

While the pig has cloven hooves it does not chew the cud.

Pigs in the old world carried a parasite called trichinosis. Unless it was carefully cooked it could cause illness. So it was a simple fact that swine were not consumed.

Making it something forbidden was easier. Peoples of that era didn't know the cause of the illness except when they ate pork they got sick.Pig raised in farms now don't have that problem.

Pork when properly prepared is not bad for you and the bible doesn't prohibit the eating of pork the old testament prohibits the eating of animals with a cloven hoof because they are unclean.

When pork is not prepared properly cooked thoroughly you can get tapeworms and trichinosis.

so Today with the light of scientific reasoning and modern rearing methods there is no logical reasons why Muslims Jews or Christians shouldn't eat pork)confused

Unles you wanna follow the book even though the reasons are illogical in today's world.

A cloven hoof is a hoof which is split into two distinct segments. Deer, cattle, and goats all have clovenmammals (http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-mammals.htm), hooves,(those animals have clovern hooves and cheweth the cud) among other and animals with cloven hooves are generally found in the order Artiodactyla. In biology (http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-biology.htm), cloven hooves can help to distinguish an animal, and they are also considered important for religious reasons because some religions involve cloven hooves in their dietary restrictions.

The shape of a cloven hoof involves two toes which are clearly split and surrounded by hard hoof material. The toes may also be capable of some limited independent movement, and they are subject to the same diseases of the hoof that single-hooved animals have.

In addition, an animal with cloven hooves may also have horns; the only animals with true horns also have cloven hooves. Many animals in this order are also ruminants, meaning that they have specially adapted digestive systems to make it easier to extract nutrition from plant material.

In some religious faiths, people can only eat meat from animals with cloven hooves; some religious may also specify that these animals must also be ruminants.

This is why observers of the Jewish faith eat beef, but not pork, because while both animals have cloven hooves, pigs are not ruminants.

Many Christians are familiar with the section of the Bible which covers clean and unclean animals, in which the cloven hoof is an important distinguishing feature. The cloven hoof has also been associated in some cultures with the devil; Satan is often depicted with cloven hooves in Christian religious art and writing, for example.

The tracks left by a cloven hoof are quite distinctive. In regions with wild populations of ungulates like deer, the small double pockmarks of cloven hooves in the soil are quite common, and they are used for trailing these animals in their natural environment. The tallest member of Artiodactyla is the giraffe , which sports a special set of cloven hooves designed to support the giraffe's unique skeletal structure.

after all these...well,
from now on, i stop eating pork... barf

I know of only one Christian religion that does NOT eat port and that is the Seventh Day Adventists. Not sure if there are any more. They also attend church on Saturday, instead of Sunday.
