I love animals. If your pet enjoys being dressed up and you have the money for this indulgence, I don't see the harm in it. Life should have fun in it. banana

God brought us into this world covered in fur and we evolved not to need it and have clothes instaed.

Dogs have sufficient for all cold and wet weathers that keep them warm and actually dry quicker than clothes on a dryer.

They love having a trim in summer which if not done they malt and lose what is too much as do cats.

Buying this stuff just feeds the commercial enterprises looking to make money out of the ever increasing human vanity.

So I personally frown upon the sad people who do this.doh

Hmmm I agree it is a silly trend to dress up our pets, imagine if they could talk to us. I'm sure they would tell us where to stuff our little outfits!

I love dogs personally, I have a beautiful labrador in the UK which my ex has custody of but I miss him, the dog that is, so much. I would never dream of dressing him up, except at Christmas when he wore a Santa hat for all of two minutes before he shook it off!

I want a dog here but I live in a flat and don't think it's fair, even though most people live in flats here in the city centre and still have dogs, usually small ones though. crying crying

Dressing pets in human clothing is absolutely ridiculous.... its pandering to ones personal frustrations of having had ones Barbies confiscated at too young an age. Animals have feelings, and get terribly embarassed at having to wear clothing. Also, by putting clothing on an animal it interferes with their natural thermal control of their bodies. Its like humans wearing a huge fur coat in all weather... when you eventually take it off, your body has re-adjusted its heat control, and now you feel cold without it.
Of course its all part of the "lets fleece the idiots" syndrome of getting rich out of some peoples ignorance and mis-guided love of their animals.
A healthy animal has enough fur, of good quality, to withstand the temperatures of the country its designed to live in. Hence Huskies in Alaska, and the hairless thing in Mexico....

Something else stupid I have noticed is this thing about cutting dogs long hair short in summer... like a "summer haircut". Think about it.... their long hair allows the hair to "float" in the slightest breeze, and pulls in cooler air to cool the body. Cut it off short.... and you got this blanket of fine hair, holding the heat against the body. I have witnessed a small dog in terrible heat distress after having his long wavy hair clipped close, for summer.

We supposed to be more intelligent than "animals"..... Geez, we are the dumbest things on this Earth!!!cool
