xxmissuniquexx: Yes, time 2 get the wheels in motion 4 another meet

Was thinking the end of Sept, give us all a chance to get the funds
together after the expense of sending the rugrats back to school, and
for anybody else who'd like 2 travel from the country to get a few bob together

So anybody interested

i totally Agree with blip..i used to travel down the country to meets in galway when the kids were younger and i could leave them with a sitter...but now i go into town(dublin city center)on the weekend as it's only 20mins on the bus..so if i can meet up with a few from here then its a bonus..grin cheaper than a hotel for a night out in the country..

Godsgift: That's because you live in Dublin and without fail, every time they see another meet being arranged, the Dubs put on one of their own to collide with it. A Dublin meet can be arranged a day before whereas Donegal has to be arranged months in advance. With Dublin being the main population centre people will obviously choose it over Cork or Donegal given a last minute choice. What it is is down right selfishness.

Dublin is our capital and its where the most people meet, I dont think its asking much for people to travel to the capital, Dublin is a more central location for all concerned, Its half way between Ireland, I'd rather go to a dublin meet than a meet in the arsehole of Cork or Donegal

I agree that the cost is a problem. I missed out on the Donegal and Kilkenny meets this year, both of which I really wanted to go to, because of finances. Add the travel costs to the costs of b&bs or hotels, especially with a single supplement, and that's me out most of the time. Dublin is easier for me as I have family up there to put me up. I think meets should be set up for the locals on the site and not in order to attract as many as possible from all over the country. Dublin can have more meets because there are more members living there and it's always going to be that way. JMO

By that I don't mean that people from other areas aren't more than welcome to attend whatever meets they wish daisy
