Yes, her parents did say that she wanted to turn the corner. It's a shame she couldn't have been supervised as in rehab.

She had a brilliant, unique voice, a true individual, outstanding.
Sadly like many over-talented entertainers they can't resist the temptation of excess drugs/and or alcohol, or there are all those 'friends' hangers on who give them stuff as a favour?
Add to that sudden fame and all that it brings with it, they just don't seem to be able to handle it. For them fame and fortune is not all it is cracked up to be??
Judy Garland, Elvis Presley, Heath Ledger, Jimi Hendrix, a couple of the original Stones?? The list is endless.
