Hi there,

I need your advice...
First time that I visited the USA, it was with my ex-boyfriend.

We have broken off some months ago in sad circumstances.
And now, I have this opportunity to go back in the same area for an internship that I don't want to miss because of the opportunity to have a job experience and to keep improving my English (I'm a French native speaker).

Do you think that I have to tell him that I'll be there or do I have to hope that I won't see him? Which is the best solution to avoid any problem? (as we don't want to see each other anymore)

confused

If the two of you broke things off, then it's none of his business about you being in the area.

Unless you actually want to see him again, there's no reason to tell him anything.

not unless you wish to initiate contact with him again. that is how it would be interpreted, and if u do not wish to initiate contact then don;t. it could upset him also - either because he does not want to hear from you or because he still has feelings for u and u will get his hopes up

Absolutely do not tell him. It's none of his business, because you guys are through. If you accidently see him on the street, oh well.

(Of course, to be perfectly honest, if I were your ex, I would want to see you again, too, but that's me! rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing )
