jdc5558: I,m in shock I guess. I've been engaged to a wonderful girl for over a year. We had a date set for January. At work they were trying to get me to quit, so that they wouldn't have to pay unemployment. For those in my age bracket you know what I'm talking about. Older more experienced better educated. The want to hire someone younger at a lower wage. Well I saw the writing on the wall and found another job. This one requires extensive travel
but pays double what I made previously.

Bottom line. She doesn't like me being gone that much so her solution. Break up. In this economy jobs are hard to come by and well paying ones even harder. I explained that it was temporary until I could find something local. Worst case I plan to retire in 5 years.

I got a text Friday ending things. I'm a little disappointed to say the least.

Well...At least she didn't wait 17 years then run off with some other guy and leave you with 2 kids and all the bills!! Count your blessings !! It could always be worse!

Good riddance. She is an idiot. If she does not understand that in this economy it is more important to have a job (let alone one that pays double of the previous one) than to be at home, then you really are better off without her.

Its her loss now...........things happen for a reason............to finish by txt is just so heartless........Now is your chance to believe in yourself and grab life with both hands now.............youre emotions are raw at the moment.........but that job could be the making of you. Stay strong....stay focused.......keep being you.Your heartache will ease when its ready............dont be blinded by what ifs......but hold your head up to the new path ahead.Take care......hope all goes well for you. Scary going it alone but you never know whats out there......god blesssad flower
