i found chinese coins, so i suppose it stands to reason, they must hav bought their belongings with them from the old country, and maybe used them to trade or something,or maybe exchange for ozzie cash
They minted Australian and New Zealand Tokens, he says sovereigns were first minted in australia in 1855 and patterns in 1853, in 1852 the government assay office adelaide issued a one pound gold coin weighing 5dwt. 15 gram face value one quite now worth up to $25,000, but don't fret you didn't send me one those

The first night I spent at my home in Italy, at the top of a hill in the countryside...It was a dark and stormy night, ya know the drill... Gale force winds, thunder, lightning....Suddenly the lights wents out, a total blackout. Thank goodness for the light of my laptop, the rest was pitch black. Alone in a 200yr old stone house, where I since found out there had been births as well as deaths.

Ah, bunkem...create a lil spot for the pieces and have them on display. If it gives you joy, that's all that matters, surely.
I believe there are spirits all around us and children and animals seem to sense their presence more than anyone else. I take comfort knowing my loved ones who have passed are letting me know their still around.

I have a border collie X who comes to a screeching halt at the same corner on our walks. It's only after well over a year, that she will eventually allow herself to be cajoled into crossing from there, except only if she goes to my right, absolutely refusing the left side while at that corner. But mostly, she pins herself to the ground and we have to walk up about 20m+ away from that corner, then cross. The red heeler before her did the same with that corner, too. No other corner did that. I can only think there must have been a death there and they still sense it.
As for children, aboriginal children especially. The indiginoous community regard seeing spirits as an everyday occurrence, and totally accepting of their presence. Though it seems that some spirits do get a bit lost, as they go looking for someone they love.

An angel or the spirit of a deceased female loved one. For sure. Sometimes, as I'm about to fall asleep, just of late, I will smell a faint but distinctive scent of a nice perfume but not one I have ever used. I know 'someone' is snuggling up. I like to think it's my daughter who never got to have a life beyond her 20 weeks. I understand now, that when a baby or child passes, they can choose which age they would like to be once they have passed.
