How do you find out if someone is being honest? (8)

I seem to get messages from guys with girlfriends *(on a break, or cheaters) and I just wish they would tell me up front....
Any suggestions on how to encourage honesty from the word go? I'm sure there are plenty of honest members, but I'm having trouble meeting them!

Hi there.. don't think there is a way around this problem...it's just a matter of sorting the wheat from the chaff. It's the same sort of thing that crops up when you meet anyone, whether on line or off..I guess .. Best of luck in the future.

If they are full of themselves you can bet they are not honest, just listen to what they are saying you'll then gain better insight into the type of person they are at that time

Hi and welcome to the forums
You cant encourage honesty you either have or not as that is part of a person.All you can do is say up front.... are you in a relationship or married
If there is a slight hesitation be very very wary,but if they say no immediately take a chance,you can also tell if they they have plenty of time to spare like weekends and evenings that can also a be a good sign.JMO.

Yeah there's no guarantees to life that's for sure and you're lucky to get so much as a warranty on here
There's plenty of honest peeps on here and out there, just try to keep your feet on the ground and use your head .. most loser types show their true colours early in the piece I think
Like everyone else.
You will never know until you meet them. And you will never be 100% sure until you've lived with them.
But talking to them by email and phone before meeting will give you a sense of the person.
A way to catch a potential out though are plentiful. Vary your contact times. If they give you exact times to contact it has to be a flag. Ignore times occassionally to see what happens. But life on the Internet is just as much hassle as finding someone in the pub scene. Nothing's black and White.
