Hi Merri, I agree with Rob, for cutting tree limbs and sleepers a chainsaw is a much better idea. Go to a big hardware store and just pick up the different chainsaws until you find one that the balance and weight feels right for you. The trick with chainsaws is not to try and push the saw, let the saw do the work, and make sure you always keep your chain sharp and tight.
For the sort of work you want to do an 18" would be as big as you need to go, smaller if you feel comfortable with it, but it will mean on some things you may have to cut twice.

Maybe hiring a paver cutter for a weekend might be an option for you?

Hi Rob and Gem, wave wave

Thank you for your input and advice... I must admit, I am a bit wary of a chain saw... in fact, I am not really accustomed to electrical tools... not at all... I seem to have strength on some days, and others I dont... so I might just see how I feel about it all.

The paving can be cut for $2.20 per cut... this is what the company that I purchased the pavers from quoted me.. I need 31 bricks cut.. so that meanz I need to lug them all back to the outlet, and then lug them all home... MMmmmm.sigh

The thing I am struggling with at the moment is lack of $$ because I am having the bathroom and toilet rooms renovated on the 9th of April. So I do know how much its going to cost, but I worry that it might go over... I guess you never know what the plumbers are going to find when they knock the existing one over , and its a 60's bathroom.
so I am reluctant to go spending at the moment.. The pavers and retaining wall were in the $thousands too, so at the moment, I am just sitting put, and working out how to finish off the paving... I have more areas to do...
Yesterday was the first day of my holidays, and my back froze up.. and all I did was sneeze... so I am thinking that my back decided to freeze on the assumption that it was going to get a heck of a workout.. just warning me to take it easy...laugh

So today. all I have done is collect all the pavers that were left over, lying about, and stack them all into neat piles..

I need a sack truck to move big pots about too... and I dont really want to be spending $100 for just one time.. any ideas..?

rose

Hi Rob... thank you for that... so I signed up for an ebay account... and then I saw that this has 8 days left... so now I am not sure...

I asked my son.. and he says that if I make an offer, and no one else bids on it, then in 8 days I could have it... I have not done this ebay thing before... but yes, that is exactly what I am looking for... wave

i occassionally do a bit of paving for clients, when they cant get a tiler, and all i use is a small 100mm angle grinder, with a masonry wheel fitted to it,the masonry wheel costs about $3.50,and you can usually cut up to ten pavers with one ,then throw it away and screw on another.trick is to not try and cut right thru the paver, just draw a line, and run a cut along the line deeper trhan half way, thenput the paver on a iece of rod and push down and itll snap on the line

When an item listing includes a link to "Submit Best Offer," you can submit a price that seems fair both to you and to the seller. Think of your offer as a chance to pick the perfect price for both you and the seller.

Keep in mind that any message you include as a part of your Best Offer is not a private form of communication. Messages included in the offer are considered formal terms of your proposed agreement and must not violate eBay policy. Be careful to review what you write in the message field..

When you're done, click the Submit Best Offer button, and a message with your offer will go to the seller.

* Once you send the offer to the seller, the seller has 48 hours to decide whether to accept your offer or decline it.
* If the seller declines your offer, you will be notified that your offer has been declined. At that point, you can choose to make another Best Offer.
* If the seller does nothing and 48 hours elapse, your offer expires. Expired offers show up as "Expired" in you're My eBay account. If your offer expires (neither declined nor accepted), you'll have to choose another option for bidding on this item.
* If the seller accepts your offer, you automatically win the item.

Once your offer is accepted you can proceed to pay for the item just like you would any other eBay item you'd won.

Merriweather: Hello Rob and Pebbs... so having a really good look at this saw..
and reading all the stuff it does..

Firstly, ( probably for Pebbs as you have met me and seen my size) I cannot see how heavy this saw is... and wonder if I could lift it with ease and still have some strength to control it???

Secondly, I need to cut branches around the place... and old sleepers and wood mainly, cuttings from stuff that I have cut with a saw, but I am not strong enough to continue sawing into smaller pieces for burning in the heater??
Would this 2blade do it? I have not bought a chain saw because I dont think I have the strength to control it???

The other thing that I need is to cut pavers and retaining bricks.. (15k ones) because I have been doing my paving out the front, and also, have heaps more to do.??

What do you boys think??

THIS BOY, THINKS YOU REALLY DO NEED A MAN.......
