vinny1967: Which conclusion Scribs ?
That he has put forward his points in a more respectful way than other posters ? You really don't want me to start quoting do you

That's my opinion as I stated but it's quite ok to disagree with it.

You can quote all you want, I know I said nothing I wouldn't stand by.

I don't and no it was nothing you said.

My post was to Dante and it was just my opinion. If people are going to call someone on their behaviour I think it should be done in a fair manner and not just done with someone who disagrees with them. That's all nothing more nothing less. Anyway Wade's response was far better than mine I think laugh

Isn't it great that a lot of those that died allowed us to actually express an opinion laugh

RIP sad flower ireland

vinny1967: Respectfully Dante

I personally think that Wade has put his arguments forward in a far more respectful way than some other posters. He has been ridiculed and he has not treated other posters in this way.
Personally I think its crass and cowardly to name call when someone has the temerity to disagree with them.
There is far worse behaviour in the thread than Wade's.
IMO peoples behaviour should not be taken to task in this way just because his position is different.

This is the quote I'm referring to.

WadeWilson: yes, yes i do
only 1 hour 15 mins to neighbours
time is flying bye

It indicates that he is only posting from the opposite perspective to stir up hassle for kicks. That is what I have issue with, it cheapens the debate.

I disagree with his point of view, and he is not well informed. That I can debate. But disrespect and time wasting like the above is best ignored.

I agree with a lot of what you say. And yet we didn't ignore it.
Anyway as I say there are other things going on in the thread that were worse in my opinion but what do I know.
I'm out of here and should not have commented tip hat

As far as I'm concerned he's tipped his hand. The Civil Service thread was similar enough.

Always interested in your opinion Vinny, don't think of it like that. wave

stanley8m: Ah now,, they weren't all bad.
They gave us most of our towns and all the lovely buildings, There hasn't been a decent looking building put up since they left]They gave us the canals, ports, railways, infrastructure, government, all our government buildings were built by the British, law and order, roads, a language the rest of the world can understand, without the British we wouldn't have the counties we cheer on in gaelic games,[just the four provinces and Meath of course]Our education system, universities and schools,
We have more in common with Great Britain than any other country, at any time they could have cleared us out of the country and replaced us with their own but they didn't, Why??? because they like us, and they treat us very well considering we have been killing their citizens for the past eight hundred years.
vice versa its amazing from this forum that theres been truths said and absoulte foolish statements.. im no republican but i support some contributing factors arising from events in our history it is bad enough our people are demoralised by finicial climate without people twisting and violating irish history soon micheal collins will be called a coward or worse or soon people will demonise the gaa history there seems to be a wave of violating irish history is it to makes us more bum chums with our neighbours...i think they would respect us more if we showed our history more respect than the causal tounge up the cheek approach

english done bad things and so have the irish both sides did bad but thats what war brings elements that can be remembered from both sides easter rising was necessary as irish idenitiy was in severe decline it was also said to be a blood sacrifice to remind the irish of thier identity

"In 1904 she became a GP practising from 9 Belgrave Road, Rathmines. She supported the Lock Out of 1913 and as a result joined the Irish Citizen Army. In the 1916 Rising she was Chief Medical Officer in the City Hall garrison, but when the Officer Commanding was shot, she, as next highest-ranking officer, took over the garrison."

Kathleen Lynn...one of the many forgotten women of Ireland....we need to rewrite our history, folks!
