I am not talking about a 'new world order'.

I am talking about a world where nuclear weapons are not built because no one can even consider using such a thing against a brother. Are we not all brothers and sisters.

Where Peacekeeping forces are not necessary because we all keep the peace.

Where Muslims, Christians and all others can worship in the same House (Gods house) in fellowship and community.

Is this a dream?

What do you think can make this happen?

How long do you think it would take to bring about?

Would you be willing to do your part knowing the seed you plant today may not come to fruit for a 1000 years.

Am in insane?

Don't mean to piss upon anyones hopes about this utopia.

But It will never happen in this phisycal world.

Why?

Because in order for it to happen you would have to take out all the negative traits of human nature from every single individual...and that wouldn't even be right considering the fact that it may not be pretty...but these negative qualities are part of what makes our humanity and balance.

The only other way...is to force it upon people which has been tried plenty of times throughout history.....and that defeats the entire purpouse.

Peace on earth isn't meant to be a continuous neverchanging thing.
It happens in moments.

So the best way to approach a matter such as this...is to worry about improving ones self..first.

You say it can never happen. I say it can. Not by forcing it on someone... That would be the short road and will never work.

But if you do what you can now and I also do what I can now in a 1000 years it might. Wouldn't that be worth it.

I personally have faith that our positive traits are far stronger than our negative traits.

And you are absolutely right... improve one self first.

The long view yeilds the best vistas.

When people stop seeing it as not united, it will be.

I don't think this will ever happen in "life". This is the kind of place we hope and strive for in death. Unfortunately, there will always be evil in the world. I would love to see our world become peaceful.

I think it might be possible given enough time. But I'm talking eons here, not anything in our foreseeable future.

However, as far as humans just trying to get along on the planet I think the USA had a really great opportunity to lead the world in that direction. Unfortunately due to the decisions of a single human being the USA has instead chose to lead the world down the drain.

World leaders really do make a difference because just as their title implies, they are indeed LEADING the world.

I know that people will argue until they are blue in the face, but IMHO for a world leader to declare a global war on terrorism is nothing short of absolutely and utter stupidity. That's now where we are headed simply because a world leader proclaim that this is where we are going to go.

Now those who would argue against what I have just said would argue that terrorism isn't going to just go away if ignored. But the ignorance there is that we don't need to make a "Global War on Terrorism" the prime objective of the human race in order to deal with terrorism. That's just totally not necessary. All that does is aggravate and escalate the entire situation!

That mindset is utter stupidity!

There were (and still are) many other pathways that a world leader could be taking. And much of it is diplomacy and tact. Instead of focusing on a "Global War" against terrorism, had I been the world leader I would have played it all down to being a mere "aside" to more important peaceful events. I would focus on the peaceful events and on peaceful ways to reach resolutions. That doesn't mean that *some* military action might not be required in some cases. But to just dive into an all-out "Global War on Terrorism" is nothing short of absolutely total stupidity.

So AB, in answer to your question. The human race is going to go wherever the world leaders lead us.

Illuminate said that we need to start within ourselves. Well there's no question that needs to be done too. But it doesn't matter how much people do in their own personally life, if they world leaders are leading them down a path to "Global War" then that's ultimately where we will all be going.

The leader of the USA created "Global War" simply by proclaiming that it shall be so!

And because the USA is indeed one of the most powerful countries in the world (if not THE most powerful), that places the leader of the USA in a position of being the WORLD leader. George Bush is leading us to "Global War" because he's the one who proclaimed that it shall be so! And he's actively recruiting more and more ENEMIES to participate in this war.

He's the one who's doing this folks.

Before we can dream about world peace we need to get rid of war-mongering world leaders.

You asked what it would 'take' to make it happen. And the first and foremost thing it will take is to get world leaders in place who genuinely want to lead the world to peace, and not to war.
