pedro27: some can try to hide under the cover of schizophrenia as way of demeANING THERE GUILT, but are mostly found out by a psychirist, ya know it makes me discontented when someone that does such horror, that all people who are dignosed are sweep into the same group and are looked upon as a possible evil person

thumbs up

When people blame mental illness on their actions falsely it does a disservice to those that actually suffer.

vinny1967: Thanks for posting those links Con.

The reason I posted the thread was because he is not pleading insanity he will be mounting a different defence.
From the article
Breivik confessed to the attacks but rejected criminal guilt, saying he had acted to protect Norway from being overrun by Muslims by targeting the left-leaning political establishment he claimed had betrayed the country with liberal immigration policies.

Where that defence will lead I can only guess but I think this terrorist will not be without support.

If he was hung drawn and quartered it would not be enough I think.
wonder how he thinks he can get away with a Defense like this,if he's indeed even allowed to plead like this!

This I don't understand.

I would have thought his allowed pleadings are 'Guilty', 'Not Guilty' or 'not guilty by means of insanity'.
Am no expert in this area, far from it, but from what I have read he wants the 'problem' of multi culturalism' to the fore in this trial. Don't know how he is going to go about it. You would imagine the Lawyer/Barrister knows what they are talking about when he said ' Asked whether Breivik will defend his actions in court, Lippestad said: “He won't only defend it, he will also regret that he didn't go further.”

I would have thought there would be some sort of strategy as Breivek does not seem the type to go quietly and a trial would raise more awareness of his actions/cause. dunno

Conrad73: yet another Conspiracy by that much vaunted NWO!

Actually I prefer the term "globalist" because it more accurately reflects their economic agenda "globalism". (multinational offshore companies etc) as well as their intention to rule the world.

New World Order is how they themselves want the world to see it.
That's how papa Bush himself described it in weird cryptic terms with a crazed glow in his eyes.

They want it to sound crazy, so that they can then use their "conspiracy nut" accusation against anyone who uses their own term to describe their own stated aims.

Globalism is more to the point, without so much hype.

They simply want to do away or subjugate all national authority to their global authority. In so doing they will remove every bit of self-determination from the people of the world. Just as "Europe" has stripped countries of their autonomy. Globalism is just a last giant step off the cliff in that same direction.

The trial is supposed to last 10 days starting Monday. He seemingly does not consider himself criminally insane so will be pleading Not Guilty. Apparently his guilt or innocence is not in question as legal experts have reported that the only thing that will determine whether he is placed in a prison or a psychiatric institution is what the court determines as to his sanity.
How they will determine that I do not know but am sure his motives and reasons will be examined.

His legal team seem to be auditioning for LA Law and its going to be some circus.

I think it will be a circus sadly but hopefully he will get life in a maximum security prison and never sees the light of day again. Too many times people who comit mass murder please they are insane and some get away with it. The US soldier who killed all the women and kids in Afghanistan will plead the same I bet.

I may be wrong but I have read that if his found guilt and criminally sane he will only serve 21 years which is the maximum.

Justice and the Law sometimes are not a good fit.

They can give him 21 years for every murder I think. Then the judge can make them run consecutively rather than concurrently. There is no way that man will see freedom again. And if he did I would say one of the family of his victims would kill him. And who could blame them!

Apparently 21 years is the maximum but they can make exceptions.

Breivik to claim slaughter of 77 unarmed victims was self-defence

Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian mass killer, will demand that he be acquitted when his trial begins next week on the grounds that he shot dead his 77 victims in self defence.

The 33-year-old extremist confessed to planting a bomb near government buildings in Oslo, and then driving to the island of Utoya where he systematically shot 69 people, most of them teenagers.

He has argued that his actions were "necessary" to prevent his country being overwhelmed by what he perceived as an imminent Islamic takeover.

"He is going to invoke self- defence," Geir Lippestad, his lawyer, told Norway's 'Dagbladet' newspaper. "We, of course, understand that will not succeed, but we are obliged to present his arguments."

Timothy McVeigh, the leader of the group that carried out the Oklahoma bombing in 1995, made a similar argument, claiming he acted out of self-defence and faced an "imminent danger" from the US government. McVeigh was found guilty and executed.

Norway is bracing itself for Breivik's initial testimony, which is expected on Monday or Tuesday. Mr Lippestad warned earlier this week that Breivik was likely to use his podium to lament that he had not killed more people.

"My point in saying that was to prepare people, so that we will be more ready for what will come at the trial," he told 'Dagbladet'. "I think we're going to hear many very provocative statements from him."

A panel of two judges and three magistrates are to rule on Breivik's case after a trial scheduled to last 10 weeks. The key question is likely to be that of Breivik's sanity, with the judges having to decide between two contradictory psychiatric assessments. The first report, submitted in November, concluded that Breivik is a paranoid schizophrenic who was psychotic at the time of the killings.

Witnesses

A second report, submitted on Tuesday, concluded that Breivik is sane and should be held criminally responsible.

Mr Lippestad has said he intends to call a number of far-Right extremists and Islamists as witnesses in the trial, including Mullar Krekar, a Muslim cleric, based in Norway, who was arrested last month after making repeated death threats against politicians.

Several of those who were on Utoya will leave Norway for the start of the trial, as they do not want to read or watch the coverage of Breivik's statements. Others have asked to be in the courtroom. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
