Newlife08: In my job (Aged Care in the Community) I have a lot of clients who are Veterans or Widows of Veterans. They are all wonderful people, one thing they have in common is their pride in what they did for their country but also more noticeable is how humble they are and really underestimate the sacrifices they made.

ALL of them have such wonderful stories to tell and most don't realise the magnitude of what they did, they talk about it so casually.

Absoloute treasures one and all.

Thank you, thank you to one and all.

Being the natural wooze that I am, I sat and watched the Melb march from the comfort of my lounge. But I will make sure that those club members I saw giving up their day to drive the vets around know that I appreciate the time and effort they have given so that those vets can participate.

To the Victorian Military Vehicles Corp, the Mustang Club, all those Rollers, the Holdens that were there, the RACV and a few others, I could see that your time and effort helped so many to be able to enjoy the day and be able to participate in the day.thumbs up thumbs up australia australia australia

Good point wash2u - as proud as they are the old diggers are getting older and much as they would like to, a lot of them are not in the best of health to walk to the post box let alone a 2 km walk/march or more.

So yes, thank you to all those volunteers who provided their transport and time and helped these proud men and women take part in THEIR day. handshake

They didn’t just fight for our freedom but for our right to be recognized as a nation, since then our service people have risen above all, even until this day,

But don’t just sing of their sacrifices, why not help the widows of the fallen, and their children, legacy day is only once per year, so what have you done to help those that have someone that wont return lately?

We need to do more! So that these soldiers families are looked after once they have finished their service to their country,

The Rats of Tabruk Asociation (Vic) sold their premises over a year ago for $1,500,000. And it all went to charity. The VMVC holds it monthly meetings there as well as a few other groups. The current owner wants to just make enough to pay the hall's way. There are many who do waht they cam to help. A few loose coins in the tin always helps to providing for those in need. Legacy is there to help out those families who have lost loved ones to conflict. And their care is all year round like so many other charities.

My grandmother was not so lucky as the support was not there 70 years ago and my father and his family had lost so much of their lifestyle. But they survived without the handouts that we have these days. They had to give up tennis, sell the house and start working at 14 & 16, but that was how you did it then to survive.

Are the ballet lessons really that important?????
