Folk from every country in the world are just the same as me.you and everybody else. It is just the Polititaians.Fundamentlists,Xenophics and idoits that do not realise this.
Every man and woman just wants to have his family to have a level of living that keeps them safe and well.They hope for better things for their kids and a better life for their youngsters.
Shame we never learn this and the squabbles of tyrants,bankers.conglomerates and power seekers from every political faction are the cause of all the worlds problems.
If Joe Smith has a house, a job,his kids fed and enough to keep him on par with his peers he is happy and that folks is 99% of the worlds population.

So true. I'm not of a mind that it's getting any better but possibly worse. A co worker once said to me "Mankind is ok, it's the people that suck." I had to correct him, I said People are ok, it's mankind that sucks. I enjoy traveling and meeting people and yes we all come from different cultures and situations, but you want to know what!? Most people are unhappy with their government and situation but they love where they live and wouldn't move for anything in the world. Go figure? The rest of us are social outcasts and the spawn of our predecessors. See ya in cyberspace.

This is just more poopaganda against Iran. The message being "The Iranian people are great, but their government is very bad, so they need and want us to come and overthrow their government.
It's hogwash. No country wants shock-and-awe, agent orange, depleted uranium, killer drones, or any of the other horrible WMDs that the US loves to rain down on defenseless people, always killing more civilians than fighters. And even the fighters are innocent because they are in their own country fighting against vastly superior foreign invader troops.

No need to apologise to me dude. This is an open forum and you have as much right to post to it as anybody. I've had differences with alberta in the past but I don't have the persistance that he has so I state my case and go on with my life. I see no value in endless debate. You on the other hand are, like it or not, a lot like him, in that you don't call it quits and your discussions with him go on page after page to the point where nobody but the 2 of you are even reading it. To clarify my position on people vs mankind. I like people as individuals and I love all the things that alberta mentioned created by mankind ie art, literature, science, inventions like airplanes, Ferrari's, skyscrapers, Hoover Dam, etc. It's the dark side of mankind which I hate, the destruction of rain forests, urban sprawl, the extinction of species, the polution of the oceans, nuclear waste and the things Ray mentioned.
Sometimes I like to think of what this earth would be like if mankind never arrived. I would love to have seen it under those conditions. The air would be so clean and rich with oxygen you would get high just taking a deep breath, at night the stars would shine like flashlights, you would be able to see the trail of dust left by the earth in its orbit around the sun called the Zodiacal Light from anywhere on earth including NYC. The oceans would be teeming with whales and fish. Of course my chances of survival in such a world would be very slim, I would probably be lunch for some wild animal before very long. To understand fully what I'm talking about, start here.
