Maybe your doc thinks you have an ear-infection or something in which case they'll prescribe something for you so hang on in there!

Never had it myself, but some of my friends had serious problems with it for a while. I would go back to the GP asap and not take - oh we try this and see how it goes - but push for more tests and keep at it until it's resolved. It can otherwise be something that stays with you for a long time...
I'd hazzard a guess and say its a mild form of tinnitus.

I was given tablets to help with dizziness and feeling sick now if someone would take this bloody noise out of my ear I might not go crazy

As much as I might miss him I am not in the habit of getting sick over it

I had vertico the weekend Annie...and yes it is pretty annoying ..dont have the ringing in my ear,just the spinning in my head and sick tummy...I have tablets for it and thankfully they seem to have worked.I had a slight head cold and it can bring it on.
The ringing in ears does sound like tinnitus.....and can be a nuisance to get rid of...perhaps those voice messages on CS has caused it..

I though vertigo was poor balance dizzy spells and the likes not hissing in the ear..you might have a gas leak inside your ear..Ring bord Gais

My mother suffers with it Annie and it can be horrible.
