dunno ive bout 200...ive met bout 180 of them..and plan to meet the rest...
prob sent one or 2 requests..although i tend to be requested more..
I dont see fb as a popularity contest and have a wee bit of weeding to do myself .
It's kinda like a status thing Glengirl..who has thousands of friends? I limit it to close friends and family though I have added people through others...

I'm with you there, I had a "cull" during the week and just kept peeps that I'm interested in and keep in touch with. I cannot for the life of me understand this need to have hundreds of "friends"....

So.......you use facebook to keep in touch with friends? But you are shy, so you let them contact you first? And you have 200 "friends"???? Sorry, doesn't make sense to me

old school/work mates u havent seen in ages..u ponder n think..has life moved on too far..
then they request ya..and over time u catch up..and it goes from there...
only person i play at judging on these forums is uno..and we mail priv and have a laugh..
its one big joke really..he and i know it..

I keep my friends on facebook in and around the 100 mark.
I dont see the point in having dozens of people I havent met or only met once as friends. I will admit to having 3 people from an online focus group as friends on facebook that I have never met in person.
Facebook for me a for ease of access to keeping in contact with people I dont see as often as i would like, or for keeping up to speed with some family members.
Also if a pub/shop/site has a facebook page as it isnt set up as a business page....then they too will be listed as friends as opposed to 'Likes'.
It's funny when you get shown a suggested friend and you think....'oh we have 7 friends in common'.....til you realise that its 3 bars, 2 shops, a cake shop and a jam maker!

I've about 130 friends on FB, a mixture of people I went to school with, work with and some cousins. I also see some of them with 100's of friends, mostly the younger crowd. I suppose they think it's great having all these friends but it's a load of bollix really.

Not on FB myself, I personally don't see the need, I prefer to stay in contact with friends and familily by phone, texts, emails etc. but everyone to their own. A lot of my friends use it to keep up with people abroad.
