Hi. I don't know why we're "all" here, but I can tell you why I'm here, or at least why I'm here right now, this minute. (! I reserve my option to change my reasoning any time I want--hardy har har). Anyhoo--I'm here to meet friends, number one. Next, I'd like to maybe meet someone to actually meet, for dating, etc... but the ambiguous nature of the internet makes this more of a silver palace in the sky dream. Hope springs eternal. Next, I like to surf some of the topics and see how people feel, pros and cons, etc... but lately I find myself in threads (one in particular) where no matter what I say some of the other members keep coming back with answers that indicate they are not really understanding ("getting") what I and others are saying. This gets annoying, because if I am willing to look at all sides, then everybody should be able to. Sure it's all right to comment, but when it just becomes a piddlin' contest, then we, as a group, aren't getting anywhere. Next, I like to talk with others from different countries and cultures and learn a bit about life and philosophies elsewhere.

Hi , certainly agree with you , but what about the people like me ,
Seen so much injustices dished out {be it personal ,or by watching others } ,the brain starts to take over from the heart and we then become very fast at realising what a 3 legged horse looks like in a race .
Very cynical i know , but with age and wisdom {hopefully} we can smell the Coffee , {sorry for the Cliche}

I know most of my threads is about asking questions for that very reason I am trying to understand how and what people think and why. I find it so intresting to see and hear how we are all so different. Now we are on dating site's like this hoping to find love again when we did not care enough to hold on to the last love we had???????? Why do we want to find love again if the next time round we will have a fight again about who's the one that feeds the cats or take out the trash????? If we find love again will we give more, try harder, love harder, share more, listen more, understand more??????????????? Will we say I love you more and most of all will we show how much we love??????
Do you ever wonder if the next time you will make it last forever. Will you still be that selfish person that just has to have it your way????? How many chances do we get to make it work?????
I think you assume a lot saying that everybody who is divorced was selfish.
I was anything but selfish. I stood by my alcoholic husband for 7 years of marriage and then another 6 years of friendship after the divorce pulling him out of bars and taking care of him.
That my dear wasn't selfish. It was friendship to the father of our daughter.
