Ah the good aul days...when you only needed one plug for the TV...now I have 3....one for the screen, one for sound and one for the channel provider!
But what I really miss...is the aul slow-set at the dance/disco/club!

Walking 6 miles to school in six inches of snow, over ditches and fields, collecting the bread on the way home from school, eating all the crush from the bread because we were so hungry and the seven of us sleeping in the one bed! Ah!!
I miss dancing to Mud, Slade, Sweet etc at the discos in the church hall....happy days...
I miss watching two full films at the cinema on every visit....a real cheap night out...and the usherette appearing with the choc ices and strawberry mivvis half way through....
I miss buying 2 ozs of cinnamon balls on the way to school...oh and the old mint cracknels...loved them....
Wish i could go back there for a wee while....

The kids are not afraid to come to harm....it is the media putting the absolute fear of jebus into the parents that is the problem.

The "music tape", remember doing those "collections" of songs for your GF / BF on the old C90 cassettes, kind of a rite of passage for the young romantics....
"Chopper Bikes", with the 3 speed sturmy archer "stick shift" on the crossbar!, just dont mention the recall notice for the frames breaking where kids went "two up"....
"Stick on" heated rear windscreen elements...Long before the days of HRW as standard, these little beauties were a must for every lad who used his car for "other things" than simply getting from A to B...
Black and White televisions...and 2 or three stations to choose from, and lets not forget "the test card" with the girl and her teddy!....
White Bread, and maybe Brown if you hunted it out!....How many bread variations now, 30,000 or so!...
Dripping on Toast....Long before the "clown came to town" we had our own cholesterol nightmare foods, and crikey, didn't they taste good!....
The "one screen" cinema, replete with ashtrays on the seat backs and "pearl and dean" adverts...Love it, damn right i did!...
Letters!......Before e-mail, we used to have pens and paper, we wrote pages to our friends and loved ones...now theres nothing as personal as a handwritten letter with a few drops of perfume dabbed on the pages, i still have some from years ago, and i aint kiddin'....
Petrol at 77pence A GALLON, sterling, (1976), smokes, same price for 20 and beer around 50p a pint....
So, there are a few of mine, such as they are....
