She began her career the year I was born.
I grew up with her on the tv and remember her in black and white on the Gary Moore Show, What's My Line, The Phyllis Diller Show, Specials with Bob Hope, she made the rounds on all the old comedy shows.

I WAS BORN IN 1945 AND SEEN MRS DILLER FROM 1960 AND JUST LOVED HER JOKES ABOUT HER GHOST HUSBAND NAMED "FANG" and jokes about her "MOTHER-IN-LAW" JOKES BEING FAT.she was so fat that she BOUGHT A GIRDLE AND THE RUBBER STOCK MARKET JUMPED 80%.SHE WAS SO FAT THAT WHEN SHE WENT ON A FERRY;IT SUNK;SHE WAS SO FAT;SHE PUT A WHITE BLANKET OVER HER AND SHE WAS ALASKA. RIP PHYLLIS DILLER.
