epirb: I can't see why direct purchase of health care was not the way to go , as it must be cheaper than giving money to insurance companys .I saw how you guys were charged for vehicle insurance on another thread a few days back , I can tell you , you are all being ripped off .My whole farm insurance car,quad bikes dozer house woolshed it keeps going is less than what fellow US members are paying for one car .If thats whats going on in your health insurance as well its a crime .I also saw some weeks ago one or two states woman could not get maternity (spell that again someday)insurance , how bad is that .I am sure the US govt only wants you to play with any printed money rather than keep it .
This is not off track at all . When Barden Powell (scouts fame ) was surounded he kept his merry band in cash by carefull issue of cash as he understood cash ended up in just a few hands , to bad those lessons have been lost by men who think they are bright .

Well all I know is that my reasonable $5,000 a year family health insurance is not $7,000 a year since Obamacare - and I haven't even see this year's increase.
But something I think many people don't understand about health insurance is that our collective premiums pay for other's catastrophic illnesses. For example, costs for certain cancers and the related treatment can go as high as $2 million in a year. If the patient's insurance has a maximum out-of-pocket of $5,000, that is all they will be asked to pay.
It's insane the high cost of health care - but Obamacare would not only approve such a treatment, but it still is doing nothing to reduce the COSTS of medicine.

Sorry. I meant to say Obamacare would NOT approve a treatment like this - even though it is the patient's ONLY CHANCE OF SURVIVAL.

WhatUwish4: How do you manage with all that is happening over there? Is the drug-related violence everywhere or just in specific areas?
We do have a war between 2 drug-cartels over territory. It is more intense in some states than others and the state that I am living at is one of the worst for their battle.
The above creates a non stable and safe environment and on top of that local criminals get active and they have done horrendous things.
How do I manage to live with it?
I have not the answer for it and I would also ask to myself
why should I live with it?
