Shame you don't have a good UHC system. As a right wing voter I support UHC as any people who have lived with it do. You simply cannot let people just starve or die from disease because they have no wealth, many times with no fault of their own.
So many arguments against UHC are along the lines of 'if they were not so lazy they would have some money for health care or private insurance'. Well life is not so black and white.
What matters with regard to UHC is operating a fair system that does not penalise the wealthy or leave the poor out in the cold. Then private simply becomes an option for those who want to have 'optional extras' and the right to jump the que by having treatment in private hospitals.
I don't know much about Obamacare, but I doubt it would be a good system since your Republicans seem to be too far right wing, much like your democrats seem to be too far left wing. Shame you don't have a good centrist party with a good percentage of the vote to act as a balance on the extremist factions of both your major parties.

The most recent was not backed by the UN along with more than half the American people and yet for that you think that your "the policeman of the world"? What nonsense. Hillary Clinton is a classic example. She uses terms like "we demand", "we expect nothing less" and "or we will act" when speaking about her allies.
As for your question, read a bloody history book on military actions for the last half century and see how many other allied nations were involved and then do some study on international dialogue to see how many other nations also encourage nations to change their systems of government for the better.

They should just copy our system. I think it works the best and here both left and right wings support it and would not dream of removing it.

I don't think he did. There are plenty of democracies around the world. To just assume that the US is the best run model is not logical. Furthermore, it flies in the face of American commentators who continually berate 'flaws' in the US electoral system. The US model of democracy was founded by people who feared democracy, hence the republic model.

It is more likely that a nation that does not have mandatory voting is likely to fall into a dictatorship as all it needs is a angry vitriotic minority group to control the vote and sieze control.
This is a real threat in the US with the lower voter turnout in respect to the entire population.
It is harder for such extremist groups to gain power if the entire electorate is voting. In fact is is virtually impossible without the majority of the electorate becoming vitriotic in mind set which is unlikely.
You have a valid point - though it is just as valid an argument that a democracy cannot truly guage the opinion of the electorate if the electorate is only represented by 20 - 50%
This is why some democracies have mandatory voting to ensure a free society while others have volunteer voting to ensure a free society.
Yes I know that is a strange statement, however in reality that is the way it works around the world and in most cases it seems to work fine, though I prefer the mandatory voting system.

Lol. Another person who did not read much of the thread before spouting. For the record, many nations send help to the US when needed. Every Summer the US requests for firefighters from around the world and dur the US winter sends firefighters elsewhere. It is a glorious tradition of mutual assistance that has been carried out for many years.
Secondly - many nations offered assistance during 911 in the form of fire/rescue/specialist crime forces. You had firefighters from as far away as Japan. So while Canada probably gave more help than others it was probably more because of the proximity of the two nations.
Lastly - The FAA has the right to order the planes to land and mutual agreements between aviation authorities around the world can result in governments having to open up airports even if they don't want to. It is international aviation law.
It is the same law that enables CASA in Australian and similar aviation authorities across Europe and in Russia to enforce all American airlines to make upgrades on their aircraft. International law overides national law in many circumstances.

America is a young nation. Perhaps in another two centuries it will still be around. Perhaps not. In two centuries North America may be one nation with the US just another part of the history class.
