Please stop referring to him/her in that manner in American media and especially don't use terms like "the president will today assume leadership of the free world" as it is really silly to presume leadership when it does not exist.
Have a nice day and may your choice of candidate win. (that statement is probably a bit silly too as it is unlikely that you will all vote for the same person).
I understand why the U.S. is referred to as "the leader of the free world," and I have no problem with that at all. The U.S. is perhaps the greatest example of democracy in action, though certainly not the only such nation in the world. We promote democracy around the world whenever possible. How many other countries are doing the same? So many countries rely on the U.S. to go to bat for them, and as a result the U.S. is often referred to as "the policeman of the world." Under these circumstances, is it any wonder why we are called "the leader of the free world?"

I was abt to counter thinking that the "free world" leader comment was from a typical drone guy..

I don't think he did. There are plenty of democracies around the world. To just assume that the US is the best run model is not logical. Furthermore, it flies in the face of American commentators who continually berate 'flaws' in the US electoral system. The US model of democracy was founded by people who feared democracy, hence the republic model.

The most important man in the most important city in the most important country in the world. All because of the founding fathers!

Nonsense. A leader is someone with the authority to lead. The President has no such authority outside the United States. Most important city? Most important country? You sound like you are the most up yourself person!
