Why is this sentence so common on female profiles at dating sites?

I'm asking this because I've read this enough times to notice a pattern... What is the meaning behind that sentence?... I'm sure there is more than meets the eye behind those words

I mean do this mean that they want a guy with his whole life planned out or a guy with a reliable money income or a guy that's kind of bossy or something like that?

Please enlighten me with your female knowledge. :)

Thanks.

Sorry mate, I haven't a frigging clue what it means and never have.

I'm wondering if I decide, definitely, without question and with utter determination that I want a cheese sandwich, whether that gives me pulling power.

In my opinion, it means a man that knows who he is, strengths, weaknesses, values, interests, what type of girl he desires, has a good career because he knew what he wanted, and therefore planned how he decided to obtain his goals.

lets put it this way, as we get older we understand ourselves better.. what we like and dislike. we go through various relationships, and realize what kind of traits in a person we get along with, and whom we should avoid.

so i believe a man who knows what he wants is a man who understands himself.

forgot to add, we as women want a man whom we feel are safe and stable in their lives. if they don't know what they want out of life and in a mate, how can we expect to feel secure with them? a man that does not know himself is confused, and i would not want to date such a person while he figures himself out.

I also wrote quite similar in my profile like the quoted sentence, but I explained it there how I mean.
I can not know that other ladies why write this but probably similar reason like me: I do not like if someone is not clear. If I am clear I can expect that my pen friend also to be clear.

One of the meanings could be: That if a guy says he wants a relationship with You and thinks you are IT, (in the first week/s of dating)... HE DOESN'T change his mind after three months and says, "I don't think I'm ready for a relationship", or "It's not You it's me", or "I need to take care of my cat family", or some other lame and stupid excuse...bla bla bla bla bla.....

A real man who knows himself and what he really wants will never act like that.

It means that she's had guys in the past that have left her feeling vague and uncertain.

At first glance this may appear to suggest that she wants a Man who will not create any doubts within her, she wants an obvious guy to make it easy for her.

But what she is unwittingly acknowledging is that she's been attracted to mysterious men in the past and she still is now. What she desires is the opposite of what she is saying. This is a near universal quality to women.

I also wrote that on my profile...I think it´s clear! We are just fed up of immature men and inconclusive men, who make us waste our time, energy and hopes!!!

to me mind in a steady person capable of following at least the main idea of what you want to do in the present and near future.

Growing up, my dad always used to tell me, "If you don't know where you're going, all roads will take you there."

I THINK (just a guess), that women say that generally to mean they want a guy who knows where he wants to go in life, or that he at least has some clear goals and ambitions. Otherwise, you're bound to end up partnering with a guy who spends more time following different pipe dreams and never getting anywhere.

I think it's pretty clear. This type of woman wants a man who has his stuff together, who knows what kind of woman would suit him best, who knows who he is, where he is, where he wants to go, and knows how he wants to get there. Doesn't matter if he's rich or poor, this kind of man knows how to work with what he has available.

No you see, I have no problem with the fluidity of life. I have no problem with exploring, changing direction, or adapting to what life throws at you. To me, its all part of the adventure which stops us from stagnating, even if not all events are positive.
