I am unsure what a nerd really is 
I know that I am and live differnt life style than most by my own choosing. It fits me well. I have been called old fashioned and I also have been called in tune with todays world exact opposites. Could you please just clarify your definition of a nerd where I want continue to ramble

Well stereotypically someone who is a little more than obsessed with Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and/or Star Trek. Computer, video game, and comic book fanatics... The list of nerd stereotypes goes on and on really.

I would call that a hobby. like the mechanic whose home look like a large tool box. I have not really watched any of these movies. I did see a couple of the starwars years ago. It sounds like you could be a really cool person. Just have to find someone who enjoys your passion with you or wants to enjoy it with you. A nerd nope I do believe that is a candy

I call myself a geek a lot because I'm into things like Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Buffy, Anne Rice, Stephen King, and anime when I have the patience for it. I even went so far as to make a Ninja Turtles reference recently. Does that qualify me for the nerd card?

Part of me --
1. I don't live in my parent's basement (rather difficult to have basements at all in Florida)
2. Never attended a comic-con convention.
3. can't speak klingon
The other part of me, however, enjoys reading federal regulations in my spare time - where I know my field inside and out -
spend a lot of time on the computer researching or reading
I love chemistry! and experimental psychology.
Finding it difficult to socialize with men from Scotland.....
