Illegals tab? $1 billion just in Oregon

WASHINGTON – A new study by the Federation of Americans for Immigration Reform reveals illegal aliens in Oregon cost tax payers more than $1 billion annually.
That translates into $700 that each Oregon resident pays for state services to illegal aliens.
The study, titled “The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Aliens on Oregonians (2012)”, shows that each Oregon taxpayer must contribute $700 annually to pay for the education costs, English language training, prison incarceration, law enforcement and health care for illegal aliens.
The study shows that K-12 education demands much of the money, some $575 million. goes to Supplemental English Education costs another $159 million; justice and law enforcement, including policing and court costs, is $140 million; while Oregon taxpayers pay $125 million for health care to be provided to illegal aliens.
The study also finds that illegal aliens only pay $77 million in taxes, or 7.3 percent of the total expenditures. FAIR explains, “Illegal aliens pay relatively little in taxes, mainly because of their low earnings.”
It is estimated that there are 170,000 illegal aliens residing in Oregon and about 64,000 state dependent children that were born in the United States, according to the study.
The information comes on the heels of a new study from the University of Oregon, as reported by the Eugene Registered Guard, that Oregon’s economic “recovery continues to be sluggish” with unemployment at a staggering 8.7 percent.

Her part is a lot more than $700 as thats for every resident, many are school age kids!!

Thanks for noticing, when I brought this up in the past I was told I was prejudice and the information was untrue. Also there is a lot that are not recorded in these numbers as well. as in many statistics they always have a significant number that will slip through the cracks. I say that it has a significant impact on this economy and the bottom line is they are here Illegally. We have plenty of legal people that are on the street and need help that do not get it. Too many people that get turned down for work and instead there is a Illegal person working that job or finds a family to work for under the table. That especially hurts the small business owners, and I don't mean the ones with a thousand employees. I mean the small businesses that are 2 and three people, sometimes a few more. Those businesses suffer when they are undercut because others don't follow Labor laws. And on and on . It really is killing those legit people.

I'm sure her's is alot more .The whole thing is totally rediculous that it costs that much.

well in the country.. where my origins comes..
every week from the other side of the sea landing 200 300 immigrants..
no documents in need of social assistance...
plus and here comes the good thing
an accommodation and and 50 buck week plus food and all basic needs..
lets say each person per week cost 250 bucks...

X 48 weeks
oh forgot might happen they make some damages too..... and more money gets out our pockets
and believe now thats all..

I agree!! I quit doing body work because the illegals came on and ran the price down for the work. They mostly did lousy work for cheap, but that was what I kept hearing from customers. "That shop down the street said they would fix it for half what you charge."
Too often I would see that car later doing a crab imitation or "dog tracking" as we used to call that years ago. Where the car doesn't look like it's driving straight as it goes down the road.
Some came back to ask me how much to fix that car "after" that. It always costs more to fix a mess like that after than it would have at the first.
Still the lousy work and low price ran many highly experienced "quality" craftsmen out of business. The cost to keep a shop open is quite high, and you loose too many jobs to lousy low price work and soon you loose the good men that did good work for a "fair" price to fix the car right.
That's not to mention that when I fixed a car I used high quality materials as they were intended to be used and my work lasted many years. Often I would see those people driving a car the illegals fixed and a year later it's cracked or faded and the car looks like crap.

Agreed.
And it is not just here and there, this is on a large scale. Even the contractors that are bonded then hire illegals and work until they have too many claims on their bond and people are stuck with homes or remodels that are falling apart.
